So this is SDS team you are speaking of, and your surprised? 90% of what they do does not make any sense.

Am I surprised? No.
But that doesn't mean I will stop calling it out

Polanco is alive. Mays is not.
Polanco can call them up and complain.

@Dolenz_PSN
No, please keep up the good fight, I’m with you. -
@Dolenz_PSN this game caters to babies who use 9 switch hitters on their team. God forbid they learn to hit same sided.

@RSALERMO_XBL I'd upvote this twice if I could.

I blame SDS for pandering to that group but the other side of me, the one that can look at it detached, thinks "Why shouldn't they pander to them. It accomplishes several goals."
First it keeps people playing. How many finish that spooky program if it is Willie Stargell as the final reward instead of Polanco"?
Next, as evidenced by the switch hitter Chase cards and collection cards it keeps people spending their stubs and hopefully breaking out their credit cards to buy more to get the next great switch hitter
So it makes sense from a business point of view but I am not sure it makes sense for the games health, when it makes many of us old timers furious that this game is peddling a viewpoint that in some alternate dimension Polanco is a better hitter than Mays. And it's not a power creep issue since those to cards were released at the same time

I was really surprised when I came into the game in the middle of the year that Willie Mays had such an awful card. At some point, I knew they would they upgrade it, but to give one of the best players of all time a card that bad is really sad. I seem to recall Babe Ruth had a bad card one year before they upgraded it but why they bother to do these things is questionable. Players like Babe Ruth and Mays should just get one 99 card each year. And while I’m ranting, if McGwire and Sammy Sosa can get cards, why isn’t Barry Bonds in here? I’d say pay him what he wants. For sure you’d get a lot more people playing the game with Barry here. It might also help if those of us who want him in the game would write to him on his website. I’ve done it before. Maybe it’s time to do it again.

Because they can't use him without getting his rights and he didn't allow himself to be included in the game even when he was still a player.
Maybe he chooses not to be in the game because he knows that eventually SDS will make some random switch hitter a more desirable card.

Dolenz_PSN you make a great point
