They aren’t trying to incentivize people to grind they are incentivizing them to buy stubs if you want the big cards.
Sure they give away stubs here and there but much less than in years past and you certainly aren’t pulling them from packs.

Vault packs would be okay if the collection cards held any value (like the upper tier cards in mural, cityscape, etc) - people have so many deluxe and premier packs that those cards have zero value right away. Its just like live series tanking after the glitch.
It leaves Chase and Headliners as the only valuable cards (and now really just Chase) - plus Judge and Shohei.

I had 2 yesterday to open yesterday. Live Series Glasnow and Yamamoto were the option in both packs.

Bingo. One or the other, sometimes both of them, seems to be in 50% of vault packs.

I think Vault Packs were made to seem a lot more special than they actually are. Earlier in the season they were mostly limited to flash sales, high-level Mini Seasons rewards, and a few Conquest maps. Now that they’ve been showing up everywhere over the last couple of weeks, I’m starting to wonder why they were treated like rare commodities in the first place. The rewards certainly aren’t making a case for their value.
The stub rewards throughout programs and missions are almost comical. 500 stubs doesn’t even buy a Show Pack, and even 5,000 isn’t exactly life-changing.
Then there’s the shop. With no flash sales in weeks, apparently the 40-50% stub sale has become a permanent fixture. Normally 24K stubs costs $20. Even at $10, that’s an outrageous price for what you actually get.
And with bots dominating the marketplace, stubs are becoming even less valuable. Anyone sitting on a pile of stubs is essentially walking into a marketplace where bots have every advantage and are ready to capitalize on every opportunity. Hard to get excited about buying stubs when the marketplace itself is working against legitimate players. -

I got a chase card out of thr last vault pack I opened but it was the absolute worst red diamond chase card I could get. Derek Jeter Vintage. I didn’t realize he was only going for like 12k max lol

The other day somebody gave me a free scratch off ticket. I won $2 but complained to them anyway because I thought it should have given me the $20 reward.
