Did Topps Now stop releasing cards? Were the cards released all for players that high level cards already?
Pavin Smith is the only 2026 Topps now cards the other four are all from 2024
Looking more closely it looks like maybe they just had no Choices. There were a lot of Team based cards, Cards for established stars with good cards already, and even guys like Ethan Salas, who earned a Topps Now card but already have a 99.

Mark Vientos is an odd choice. I don't think hes had a card this year since WBC, but as a Mets fan I wasn't itching for one. Surely there were spotlights they could have done instead?
Giving Lowe a card here probably indicates they are going to keep Finest a small set, that's a shame. 2023 Finest drop was so great.

It's from 2024.
I don't know if they just didn't want to change the card mix and give us Spotlight cards instead of Topps Now or whether they are somehow contractually obligated to release so many Topps Now cards?
It does seem strange. The Ethan Holliday card was the one that threw me off.

SDS had a chance to fix the broken meta.
Instead they chose to exploit it for money, deliberately making all the best cards switch hitters hidden behind paywalls, knowing many of their fanbase are desperate for any, even perceived, advantage to the point where they'll continually drop money for the next 'great' switch hitter.Like I said, utterly shameless.
