I'm 73 and have been playing since 17. Used to play Strat O Magic years ago and for me this game is like SOM come to life. My son bought me a PS5 then told me about this game. I play on low difficulty and directional hitting. Eyes a reflexes aren't what they used to be but still enjoy baseball.

I'm 45. I love this forum BTW, i'll say this: I've been gaming since i was 5 years old. Between NBA Live 95, Tecmo Bowl, NBA Jam tournament Edition, Every Madden From 92-22', MLB the show has been my favorite sports game the last 10 years. My reaction time kinda of tailed off dramatically this year. I'm a world series player early but i've been hovering around 10 games over .500 in ranked, so my best days are probably behind me. I still love the chess of baseball and the competitive ranked games, it's still my thing.

Good to see y’all. Funny thing I am 71 now and moved from Texas (ugh) to Indiana after I retired last year. In about 3 weeks time I have a lineup of 99’s and all but Altuve are P5 lol. I’ve been playing Co-op with a friend and we only have 2 losses. Yeah y’all remember CardinalBird5 from back in the day. He was the top player online I think until 18 the softball version came out and he quit. I still think 17 was the last great game for online play even if late was great lol.

I'm confused about the MLB 18 softball reference? The grind of that version coupled with the changes in RTTS that year caused me to hang it up before May was over.

I think it's because pitch speeds were slow that year. Maybe I'm remembering it wrong because I'm old...

The softball version was because that game played like a slow pitch softball league with grown men playing on little league fields. Pitch speeds were slower, but it was a homerun derby. Every swing was either an out or a homerun.
