Sds you scared all the casuals away. Not good for your game.

In my opinion — A huge, yet significantly impactful, aspect of hitting successfully in the game is understanding pitch sequencing/patterns and other elements of the game/situational.
CPU pitching is knowing frequency of pitches thrown and generic sequencing/tunneling for those matchups/pitchers.
Online is a beast of a battle… picking up on/recognizing what your opponent throws and when is vital… it’s a logical guessing game if they are using practical sequencing/tunneling OR doing the opposite of expected… whoever is sitting on a guess usually tanks it haha -
@WolfgangMLB_XBL because they continue to make this game a sweat fest. Like I said catering to the top 5 percent of players.
Need to draw shapes to use the best pitching method with the lowest pars. Need to perfectly place pci to get hits, even then the rng takes over.
Every pitching method should have the same par sizes.
Especially when pinpoint take far less skill/coordination as opposed to meter and analog.
Makes no sense.
As someone who's tried all of these, I disagree. Pinpoint is by far the hardest. But it's also the most fun and most accurate. I had to legitimately sit in custom practice for a week before I felt comfortable enough to use pinpoint, where meter was the default I used when I first touched the game.
Idk man, maybe if you are just learning it might be hard, but after repetition it is beyond easy. Guys can throw superdots that scrape the outside edge of the zone all day on pinpoint.
Yea, we call those scripts. The PARS of most pitches should not let you touch the line every pitch.
Exactly. At this point I have maybe 70% perfect releases. But with the pars I'm certainly not always dotting.

I don’t think anyone is coming close to the good/perfect release rate from pinpoint on meter, analog or pulse. So why is the PAR bigger for those options?

Speaking of driving people away, the game last night in coop ranked was playing like absolute hot garbage. In coop, the netcode was realllllly struggling, the frame rates were smooth, but it was like our opponents were a second or two ahead of us. There was two separate occasions where our fielders were chasing down a liner, they're on the spot then suddenly the automatic animation or reaching/leaping for the ball kicks in and it goes past them.
Batting was super weird too...we were late on everything, CB, FB, Cutters, Changeups...didn't matter. We're not gonna set the world on fire as far as batting goes, but we're both competent hitters. Feels like the gameplay has gotten worse as the year's gone on

Feels like the gameplay has gotten worse as the year's gone on
Both online and offline DD.
-
I also feel like if you are not perfectly squaring up the ball it goes now where now or very low exit velocities. Makes for a very frusterating low fun experience.
-
This has been an issue all year long but does feel even worse as of late. Not sure exactly what is going on. I noticed most of my squared up balls were either right at fielders or lazy foul balls and a good chunk of my HRs were off PCI. RNG at its finest I guess.
-
@TripleH-4481_PSN They tweaked the timing windows for this release...which wasn't even remotely an issue, so I don't know why they did. Now, if I didn't know any better I'd say in one of the more recent updates they've tweaked it again and it's not translating well online
-
I think it’s funny they make all these under the hood tweaks and we never hear about it. If anything the game should be getting more rewarding in gameplay, packs, and card availability. It’s doing the opposite as the gameplay keeps getting worse, single standard packs are being awarded while so many other cards are unavailable, and the market is a disaster.
-
@TripleH-4481_PSN exactly agree with everything you said. It can be summed up to exactly this. The game is just not rewarding in almost every way shape or form. They definitely tweaked hitting. I cannot believe how many squared up balls online do nothing now. Its either a home run or nothing. Game is just poor.
-
Its either a home run or nothing.
Yeah but that's been online for a few years now though. Very rarely does playing "small ball" ever work. On occasion I might win a game here or there without out-homering my/our opponent.

I have found in years past that the game plays noticeably worse the more players leave. Usually plays really bad around November. Maybe that is starting earlier this year.
-
I wonder why that is? Lack of server maintenance? I do feel like this year is way ahead of schedule for players bailing on the game. The only people left are die hards and people new to the game. The majority of the middle ground is long gone. Just look at the market transactions, you tube video views, and lack of forum engagement, all points to a decreased player base.
-
@DemIsE4_XBL This actually makes sense, connections get worse and worse as "the distance" grows because of lack of players.
@tripleh-4481_psn yeah I've noticed the forum engagement has dropped off a ton. I know there's typically two drop offs- one at the allstar break, and one at the end of the season and then it fluctuates from there depending on if the game gets tossed in the "Free for +/gamepass" things etc.
I don't know if I've seen a steep decline like this this early before
-
I feel bad for the online players already battling connection issues for them to get even worse is ridiculous.
Yeah after all star content release and them trying to squeeze a few more bucks out for the 99 bellinger collection I think a lot of people that were already on the fence jumped off.
-
@TripleH-4481_PSN I don't think very many people were on the "this is great" side of the fence right from the get go this year.
-
Yeah I don’t think so either but I think quite a few were willing to give it one more shot and this year confirmed their fears. The decline is staggering with this year dumping gasoline the fire.
-
@TripleH-4481_PSN yeah its extremely disappointing. So many things. I hate always coming on here and being negative. This game has become so toxic, so unrewarding and just overall anger inducing. Not just the gameplay. Everything is stale. Lack of online programs stands out to me more than anything. Same offline grinds also all year long.
