I'm thinking about switching out of pinpoint and trying something else. For whatever reason I can't throw a circle changeup anymore. Goes yellow almost immediately. Maybe I'm pitching too fast, not sure. Is there any specific advantage to pinpoint?

I’ve been switching lately off pinpoint, but the problem is the PAR is bigger on the other pitching methods.

@WolfgangMLB_XBL because they continue to make this game a sweat fest. Like I said catering to the top 5 percent of players.

Need to draw shapes to use the best pitching method with the lowest pars. Need to perfectly place pci to get hits, even then the rng takes over.

Every pitching method should have the same par sizes.

There really needs to be a rewarding three inning game mode.

Playing nine inning games in ranked Fn sucks if you aren’t in the mood.

They have never had a three inning game mode on legend or HOF other than a very small number of events.

Really needs to be a three inning mode with higher difficulties available.

    @SpawnOfDitka_XBL

Same goes for hitting in that zone should not be over powered compared to directional and timing. If they leveled the playing field regardless of hitting and pitching method “a lot” more casuals would be willing to try other modes and every online game wouldn’t be the sweat fest they are now.

@TripleH-4481_PSN directional/timing shouldn’t ever be equal to zone. They are easiest to use than zone is. Which is why zone is more rewarding for when you give a good input

@Apolloz_99_MLBTS I agree zone should be more rewarding. But the other options should not be as much of a disadvantage as they currently are.

As far as pitching. Pars should be the same on everything besides classic pitching. Why are pars bigger on analog. Analog can be argued harder to use then pin point. Stop the sweaty bs in this game. Players should be able to use whatever pitching mode they are comfortable with, without being at a disadvantage

As someone who's tried all of these, I disagree. Pinpoint is by far the hardest. But it's also the most fun and most accurate. I had to legitimately sit in custom practice for a week before I felt comfortable enough to use pinpoint, where meter was the default I used when I first touched the game.

Idk man, maybe if you are just learning it might be hard, but after repetition it is beyond easy. Guys can throw superdots that scrape the outside edge of the zone all day on pinpoint.

The thing with timing is that you still need to be good at picking up pitches. While you don't place your PCI, you absolutely have to know where the pitch is going. And there are far fewer bail outs for swinging at bad pitches with timing than there are with zone. I think buffing some of the outcomes, removing the near automatic foul ball on 'good' timing that is on the edge of the green (will dramatically speed up games), and taking away perfect/perfects as a counter balance and a reason to keep zone superior would be good for the game.

At the same time they shouldn't penalize timing or directional either. Quite honestly even with zone timing matters more than PCI placement bad timing and good PCI placement usually never ends with a good result. Conversely, good timing and you are off on PCI placement can and do have beneficial results.

Timing is definitely skill based and has to be practiced and worked on. Not so much with aiming a dot. Doing both is definitely skill but one or the other will always consistently be off that's just being human. Unless someone is using a script or some other cheat.

If it were me I want my timing to be on point consistently and my PCI placement I'm not so much worried about that. I'll still get my fair share of hits and homeruns.

Yea, we call those scripts. The PARS of most pitches should not let you touch the line every pitch.

That and regardless of skill all pitchers shouldn’t be dotting like prime Greg Maddux just because a player is skilled at drawing shapes.

Overpowering zone hitting and pinpoint pitching at the expense of the others is wild and pushes an unnecessary skill gap. They should give a boost but nowhere near as much as they currently do

In my opinion — A huge, yet significantly impactful, aspect of hitting successfully in the game is understanding pitch sequencing/patterns and other elements of the game/situational.
CPU pitching is knowing frequency of pitches thrown and generic sequencing/tunneling for those matchups/pitchers.
Online is a beast of a battle… picking up on/recognizing what your opponent throws and when is vital… it’s a logical guessing game if they are using practical sequencing/tunneling OR doing the opposite of expected… whoever is sitting on a guess usually tanks it haha

Exactly. At this point I have maybe 70% perfect releases. But with the pars I'm certainly not always dotting.

I don’t think anyone is coming close to the good/perfect release rate from pinpoint on meter, analog or pulse. So why is the PAR bigger for those options?
