@On_a_Power_Trip_PSN there really was no point to this program if they just planned on killing it right after.

How'd they kill it?
- Online players could earn him for free playing the program
- Offline players or online players who did not want to bother with the program could simply buy him.
That is still the case for both types of players.
The only thing that will be affected is his price. If people invested in multiple Acuna's on the basis of an assumption then that was a risk they took.
The odds of pulling either card in a BIAH pack is 1 in 100.

Exactly they killed the price. What was the point of making it limited time just to turn around and basically cut his price substantially. There was no point of the program if you are just gonna kill the rewards immediately.

So the whole point of earning Acuna in the program was not to actually use him but get him simply to sell?
If you plan to use him or collect him then why does the price matter?
-
@Dolenz_PSN it matters because alot of people were buying him to invest and sds knew that, so they tanked his price. Once again as a greedy method to restrict stubs from people and in this case actually take stubs from people. It was natural for players to invest in what they thought was a time limit program to earn a card. Whether you can buy him or not.
This was a garbage, predatory move. Make something a time limited program, have people rush to get the card, to then put the card in biah packs. Who ever made the 75k stubs absolutely lost it. Because a ton of people also invested in acuna at 50 to 65k.
-
@Dolenz_PSN and if we don’t want to keep him or collect him? We are just sol?

People obviously play the game the way they want but again I seem to be more happy with the game because I don’t waste my time investing
Each time this year someone talks about investing they are not happy
-
That’s why investing is pointless because anytime SDS wants to tank the market they can. It’s as easy as putting the card in packs and boom no longer rare. Flipping is viable but investing is a very risky no win move these days.
-
@Ditka06-_MLBTS man I saw this coming a mile away. I thought about buying 10 acunas hoping they would go up, but with the amount of crying that was going on from players not wanting to play online, I knew this was a bad investment. It was obvious sds was going to give these cards away.
Im mostly oit on DD at this point, but if I was going to invest it would only be with cards that are only in packs. Like the newer mural, cityscape, rookie cards. Even those wont pay like the bullpen cards did. That window is gone.
-
@Dolenz_PSN and if we don’t want to keep him or collect him? We are just sol?
You got to play a program that had other rewards that online players seemed to enjoy
Although it would have been better to do this as an offline program a month later than just drop into packs like this
-
Only thing I didn't like was burying the 75k behind BR...but it's not the end of the world. I'm doing alright making some meager gains with flipping smaller items now...seems to have improved slightly.

I think we just need to realize we have to flip in volume now, utilizing smaller things, like the stadiums. Gone are the days of 50-75k gains on single cards, especially when they were necessary for collections...man do I miss those.
-
@Dolenz_PSN and if we don’t want to keep him or collect him? We are just sol?
I wish I could be so SOL that I could play an offline program that I was celebrating less than a week ago, one that rewarded me with a card that is still selling for almost 40K and with an option to continue on in the program and earn another 75K.
You know what offline players get to do when there is a program that rewards them with cards they don't plan to use or collect? Skip the program because those are the only 2 options we have. I would probably play a lot more than I do if I could sell my rewards and put those stubs towards players I actually wanted but are too expensive because they are in packs.
But yeah, you're upset and still blaming offline players.
-
@Teak2112_MLBTS they just killed it right it after completion the program itself wasn’t the problem.
-
@Dolenz_PSN you could have played the program online also, no? You choose not to play it. Am I not allowed to be uspet about them killing the reward for actually grinding for this program? I also never said this had anything to do with offline players.
-

I don't think it had anything to do with investments or restricting stubs. I think it was just an overreaction to all the complaints from people that weren't able to get him.

They didn't kill the program reward. You got the card that was the reward. There was no promise that it would sell for a certain amount of stubs. There was never even a mention that it would be exclusive to the program.
And yes, I could have chosen to play but the odds, with my skill level, of me ever reaching Acuna or the 75K were very slim.
Was I disappointed that it was Online? Yeah, but more because it gave me no real incentive to play the past week. I am not going to play a mode I find unenjoyable just for a card. Shoot, I even refused to play DQ for Ozzie Smith for that reason.
-
@Dolenz_PSN they killed it and you don’t have to agree but that program wasn’t hard to get to Acuna and I below average to average player at best. There was no point in making it time limited.
-
There was no point in making it time limited.
That point we can probably agree on.
