I'll use my Braves theme team offline sometimes, or in an event, just for fun. Never take it in to ranked though. I'll sometimes use cards that aren't ATL cards if they did play for them at some point, but usually only if I don't have another decent option at that position to use.

I always create a theme team and am like “yeah, this is awesome!” and then never use it. Delete it. Then a day later make a different team, rinse repeat.
In the rare event I use one, it’s only for novelty’s sake or to get a TA thing.
I wish there were captains that weren’t strictly team base captains. I missed making theme teams based off of the captains a few years ago. Obviously I could make a theme team along those same lines without a captain, but I haven’t

I have a Giants team that I use when I am grinding mini-seasons for packs. That way I am earning pack and trying to get the #1 fan done in team affinity. I need about 200 more home runs and then I will move onto the next team. I don't use Giant pitchers however as all their tasks are completed. Using whatever pitchers I can get awards for.

Does anybody actually use theme teams or captain boosts in dd. I have a redsox lineup haven’t used it tho. And if so I know he won’t get the boost but v mart played for the redsox so is using his 99 cheap or ok even tho he’s a tiger card. Same with mookie. I know a few people in here have there cardinals teams how do u guy use these players? Like let’s say they drop a 99 Pendleton but he’s a brave or they dropped Chris carpenter and he was a jay.
I use my Cardinals team in events and ranked only, as I’ve got the #1 Fans thing / TA completed and I have a blast playing god squads with them. It’s more fun and challenging to play other people with it, a bigger sense of accomplishment when I win.
I play offline with all the other teams/god squads for TA
I use Sonny Gray and Steve Carlton as they were cardinals, as well as old bullpen arms like Andrew Miller and Eckersley so long as they were a Cardinal once otherwise I just level up my bronze cards.
STL is very fortunate as their pure Cardinals player lineup is actually quite good, and absolutely ace defense if P5’d. I run:

One question is should I run murel ortiz is his boost worth it for the captain or should I just run the better card. -
See that looks like a pretty darn good team too. I’d probably at this point play with the better card, but it could be you hit better with the 88 Ortiz. I personally think the +6/+6 is worth it to pass into everyone else but your results may vary.
I also am low rank so never over all star online really so maybe that extra juice works out for me.
However I currently am only running the Lee Smith boost, I’ve found I don’t really need the Carpenter hitter boost and I suck with his 88.
Really hoping for new Captains soon

@JenkinMeyer_PSN yeah the team looks rly solid I haven’t tried it online yet since my god squad is rly good but trying it could maybe pump some life into the game till all star. But I’m also in high 800s so hof/legend it’s a coin flip so idk how this team will play on that difficulty I may buy raffy and give it a run.

I tend to have a grind team and am slowly working to complete all the TAs (not the #1 fan portion, just the other set of tasks that gets both captains).
I have 2 or 3 teams I shoot for at once and when 1 is complete I switch that team's out for another.
Back before the A's abandoned Oakland (FJF) I always had an Oakland team and only used players of their cards. It was beautiful with Rickey leading off every game. I miss those days... -
@Finn_Scotus_MLBTS I tried my Sox team online for the first time tonight and actually had a blast pitching carried so far for sure tho. Offence had some unexpected hero’s Xander is rly nice struggling with raffy and Roman so far im giving myself a bit of leeway with if they ever played for the team ill take them no matter what team is on the card. Minus ppl who barely touched the show with them like I won’t use Kyle Harrison’s 94 but am using 99 v mart but I’m debating giving myself 2/3 wildcards for this atrocious bullpen. Jake Bennett’s topps now card just diced a guy online tho and it feels rly nice to win with new guys especially from the team I watch.

I've been using Theme teams to get to the 80k threshold in TA and gather up those 15 packs. Currently on the Red Sox. Pretty solid team...

@MarioMendoza935_XBL it’s actually not a bad squad at all now if raffy can start hitting which is weird I usally rake with his cards and Roman too I will be all set pitching is lights out but like I said I may give myself some non redsox bullpen arms. The bullpen is very rough. I may give myself like 3 wildcards which I don’t think is a bad idea just to use on 3 relief pitchers.

I haven't used Tulo or Miggy in many weeks.
If I am good enough I will win whether I have Tulo or a 93 overall at SS.

Every season, I make a Mets squad out of the 4 we're allowed, but never use it. I may, this year to get to the #1 fan. I even have an all Dallas Stars team in HUT, but only use it in 'Cup Chase' offline, for all those asking 🤪

I agree. I never have complained about the number of Cardinals this year, especially after the down year of 2025. My only complaint Has been the cost to get them since the majority were pack cards, including 2 chase pack cards.
