Forcing BR
-
Not a fan. I thinks it’s because im forced to use cards I really don’t want to use.
-
I hate BR because all the flukey [censored] and RNG are more likely to happen there.
-
Running into goons to start half of BR runs sucks but complaining about 1500 stubs is beyond any kind of sense of entitlement I've ever seen.
-
BR is a good mode - why dont more non-elite players want to try it? If it had more players of all skills doing it, I think everyone would be happier.
Also, the entry fee is silly - and can be done away with (just get rid of auto pack reward)
Yep, all this. If they’d have made BR free it’d be a cool thing and more people would try BR
-
I would rather play a 9 inning ranked game on legend than play this fluky cheater ridden mode.
-
I actually think BR should be chopped next year and replaced with Theme Team Mode or Salary Cap Mode...or some team-building mode.
But for now, I enjoy BR - way way more than Ranked. I despise 9-inning ranked games - they are a SLOG with a capital S for me.
-
A salary cap mode would be sick. At least as an event or something. Hopefully they try something like that
-
So, how does SDS encourage more players of different skills to play it? Thats the fix. Get more people in there, so it ain't just elites.
A BR program would help a TON, but these programs and missions are okay too.
You just answered your own question. The program accomplished this, but SDS insists on moving this game backwards every year. They insist on making this game less rewarding every year. They insist on giving us less things to do.
-
@MallomarDestroyr_PSN i agree on this one, as an online player, there is absolutely no incentive for me to play BR. I dont care about 20x Flawless, i got my one and i'm good. Well last year, not this year. The current set up only people who care about the flawless banner play, nothing wrong with it. Just the Average player gets their cheeks slapped.

BR is a good mode, the issue is because they've always buried the best rewards behind it, only the top 5%-10% of players play it. There's two OR three ways they can remedy people not wanting to play.
#1 like you said, eliminate the entry fee- especially when it's required to complete a program. For those of us not in the top 10% of players, it may take us many tries just to get the five wins, forget flawless.
#2 Something I've been suggesting for a bit now- Tier it like they do with WC. In theory, it should be equally as difficult playing against people your own skill level all the way through. At least for program inclusion you can keep the rewards the same.
#3- Probably my more preferred method- Make a return to double, tripling, or even quadrupling the amount of stats an "offline" player needs in order to complete the program. Not sure why they got away from this, but the logic behind it is "sure you can get it done vs CPU, but it'll take you 3 times as long". If they want to spice it up make it so that it has to be done on Allstar or higher, this way you prevent guys from shelling the CPU on rookie.
-
@Sarge1387_PSN offline players shouldn’t be entitled to be rewards. Unless they are gonna make two separate BR. One for online and the other for offline.
-
@Apolloz_99_MLBTS perhaps "offline" is a poor choice. Allow them to get them, but they've still gotta put the work in DD, just vs CPU. Doubling, tripling or more on AS or above is a good way to ensure that. I'm not gonna assume your age and how long you've been playing, but there was a time where this was the norm. They got away from it for god knows what reason, and that's how BR became much more WAAC.
I'm not saying give them away, make 'em work for it 100%. But to your point, and my second in my list was to make BR tiered if they're gonna bury rewards in BR. Just apply the WC logic to it.
-
@Sarge1387_PSN realistically there doesn’t always need to be offline option for certain online rewards. But they could make an online/offline br. Since it’s mode that it’s viable at this time.
-
@MallomarDestroyr_PSN just an fyi if anybody has the 20x flawless they aren’t legit. I could be wrong but that’s my thought process.

When you pull a quick sell diamond every hundred packs $1500 stubs is a lot.
-

When they had the "BR Program" in 2023-2024, I played it all the time. Lots of good rewards, a "normal" player base... man, I miss that.

Or every thousand packs

@GoozeFn_PSN you already know i love this comment.

I think everyone misses the br program rewards.
I started out 2 and 0 last night. Played a 1000 rated player game three of course. I was doing great. He ended up beating me 8 to 7. I hit into a perfect perfect double play and he got 3 of his runs on bloop hits. This cannot happen vs a 1000 rated player. Made me so mad. Just cannot happen! I dont know how anyone goes 10 and 0 when you factor in RNG.

I do think all rewards should be available to everyone. To me, I feel like they've already solved this problem by the fact that every program has it's own "stars" system. Why not just make every card that can be earned via in game actions just be earned via "stars".
Let's use Joe Mauer. Right now, he's only available via the miniseasons. Instead just make it part of program, or something similar. Say you need 150 stars (
✪ 150) to get him. Fine, make it possible to get those stars in a number of ways.Miniseasons

✪ 5 - Joe Mauer singled in his final All-Star game on July 16, 2013. Relive the moment by getting a base hit in this last All-Star appearance. -
✪ 5 - Joe Mauer's last career game as a catcher came on August 19, 2013 in which he had two base hits including a double in his final at bat that season. Get 2 hits, including an XBH to recreate the capstone of this Silver Slugger's season -
✪ 5 - (And so on - I feel there would need to be a LOT of moments)
Basically, the idea is simple. I will not speak to the complexity of actually implementing it, nor will I speculate why they haven't implemented it like this already.
