How is the Community Market feeling?

But now? This takes place within a few nanoseconds. It does this at a speed not possible for a human to replicate, on the app or otherwise. For this reason, I don't think the bot problem has been resolved yet. It's impossible to make a profit on cards with good margins (newer live series cards for example) when this is occurring.I've always been a card flipper. I work 60-hour weeks, so I can't be on my console grinding like the 24/7 players. Flipping has always been one of the ways I could keep up (and engage with the game).
To add to this, I'll use Junior C as an example. I was trying to buy the card and put in around 12 different buy orders, and each one got 1-upped instantly. I went from roughly 3050 all the way up to 3080, and every single order was immediately beaten.
But then when I canceled all 12 buy orders, every single one of those bot orders disappeared too and was placed right back 1 over the current bid, so back down around 3050. That is the part that makes it feel very clearly automated.

That said, these bots are without question a direct attack on the market. It is exactly like a denial of service attack. In my view, it may well have crossed the line into criminal behavior, but SDS would need to press any legal complaints to law enforcement.
Personally, I think they should. But, it's not my call either way.I agree with @priorfir4383355_xbl here. Epic has gone after and sued Fortnite cheaters before. I know it's probably extremely complicated, but I do think SDS should explore doing something similar.
People like @manu__sds_mlbts are over here working their tails off trying to fix things that are only broken because people are hacking, exploiting, botting, or whatever the right term is. This is 100% a reflection of a bad part of the community, not SDS.
The people doing this are a different breed, and I really hope there are real consequences for it.

️I did notice a change you made (I won’t mention it here in case the exploiters are watching) but thinking / hoping it’ll help.

@Bridge-Piece_XBL Be sure to keep a close eye on the market and especially on the cards the bots love. It feels like every time they update the app the bots find a workaround and they’re back to their cheating ways
-
Some cards have bots around the clock. Since this last update it seems like they take a break after beating/undercutting you twice. The brief pause has allowed me to win a couple bids on active cards, but equipment and slower moving cards are still impossible to hold a position on unless you refresh listings 24/7. This is probably a result of “marketing throttling” the App Store lists as the main change for the newest app version. Not sure if that’s saying the quiet part out loud but it doesn’t sound like an upgrade. Kinda sounds like a downgrade.

@Manu__SDS_MLBTS bots are already back and awful.
-
@Manu__SDS_MLBTS Bots are already back. They’re doing what we described above on the LS Aaron Zavala card right now. And any other cards you can make a reasonable profit on
-
It honestly feels as bad if not worse than it’s been all year. You put in any buy or sell without sometimes being undercut by like 5 separate bots
-
Howdy,
I am sorry to hear this. I have just updated the strategy, Please keep me updated on any improvements/issues.
-
@Manu__SDS_MLBTS how about you do something about me being restricted now because I am having try buy and sell at large volume of silver and bronze cards to make any profit, while these bots are worse than ever? Y’all clearly have flags on something wrong and are restricting all the legit people while bots roam free.
-
Why is my account restricted again? Trying to buy and sell common cards, manually, and I get hit. This is intolerable. Fix it.
-
Your account is not restricted.
I see your requests coming in and being fulfilled, the last one was at

@Manu__SDS_MLBTS hi Manu. There’s a pop up coming up that says people are getting restricted. I had one pop up after placing just 8 buy orders.
But within a minute or two it was back to normal function.

Try it again now. Happened to me - but it was a temporary pop up and then started working again very quickly.
-
@Manu__SDS_MLBTS mine is restricted on companion app but not on xbox.
-
Yeah, it worked again for a few minutes. Then restricted again for a few minutes, the worked again for a few minutes, then...
At this point either it is stupid, or I am for continuing to try
-
Same here with the “restricted” error notification. Scared me like I got falsely accused of cheating on an exam lol
-
The restricted thing can be annoying but just wait like 30 seconds and youre good. Huge improvement with the bots so far today.
@manu__sds_mlbts Thanks so much for working on this

The market is usable right now. Lots of cards that have been controlled by bots are winnable at the moment. You can see the effect that bots have had on them. Night and day. Prices have been more or less locked on what the bots parameters are. IF and when the market is functioning this way, imo there is no need to feel like you need to buy and sell things in bulk. Real talk though, the thought to grab what you can while bots are disabled/slow is there.
The reality has been, the market is basically controlled by bots. If you want to flip cards, you’re going to be competing with bots. But if you try to compete with the bots, you will get restricted on the app. Lose/lose situation.
Lots of players, including myself have been caught up in account restrictions, which sucks. But if the bots can be sidelined more often like they are right now, I’d think players wouldn’t interact with the market in ways that resemble bots…

@Manu__SDS_MLBTS Thank you for getting into this! Everyone here is rooting for you!
