May Spotlight Lightning Card Opinions
-
@Christuffer9917_PSN of the ones you listed, my vote would be for Andujar, Lopez and Schwarber.
-
@Christuffer9917_PSN probably no Harper as he was just the multiplayer program reward.
-
Probably not Soto since he is a Season reward this season.
-
@platewelder_363_mlbts My vote would be Schwarber, Bellinger, the mis, Aaron Judge, and Byron Buxton. @apolloz_99_mlbts True, I think even with the lightning card being Bryce Harper there would be no point in that unless it can help people who are saving up on stubs because the multiplayer program reward edition of Bryce Harper is cheap and could be the same overall. @whiplash0013_psn Also true, I MIGHT have to exclude Jordan Walker out of here cuz he just got a spotlight card not long ago. But yeah would like to see a Juan Soto five-tool player lightning card.
-
Soto has only ever been a 2 tool player(maybe 3 I'm not sure about his arm)
-
Soto has never been nor will ever be a 5 tool player. He lacks speed, defense, and arm. He’s had great years at the plate, but I don’t think anyone has ever said he’s close to a 5 tool player.
-
@SavageSteve74_PSN The speed imo isn't bad, but the defense and arm are terrible. So yeah no chance of a 5-tool version of him ever I think.
-
He’s rated in the 13th-17th percentile for speed, meaning well into the bottom third.
He steal bases because of his running IQ, much like Josh Naylor. He picks his spots very well and takes advantage when he can.

I would think Walker is completely out of the running having just been featured last month. He does lead the league in wRC+ but he is out.
Unfortunately Walker is out of the running even though he does leaf the league in wRC+ for April.
Soto has a 95 card so a Lightning card might not be noticeably different.
For some of the others we need to remember that the All-Star break will be about 5 weeks after this drop. Several players mentioned are locks for inclusion into the All-Star program or possibly even the all-star collection. Schwarber will most likely get a HR Derby card.

Hopefully not any of the guys with multiple diamonds already, so Andujar or Lopez please.

Uncertain at this point wether it will be Schwarber or Harper, could be both but one might defer to the other. Edit: for the HRD.
