The state of MLB The Show 26

I’m just glad people are actually speaking out against SDS this year. It’s been years of blindly simping and defending this company even though the writing was on the wall of where things were heading.
-
I think that’s gonna ding SDS a lot more than people are willing to admit. Really really bad timing on SDS’ part to go off half-cocked and think it’ll fly, in a year when we’re seeing Black Flag resynced, the Fable reboot, and knocks on wood GTA.
I can’t wait for 007 in a couple of days. I’ll still play my franchise games but I’ll get away from DD for sure when that launches. I do feel franchise doesn’t have the same issues DD has in terms of each update killing the way the game plays.

Yeah next year there’s gonna be a ton more layoffs aswell, they’ll like be a lockout so there’s gonna be no hype for this game, also because the regualr season won’t be going they want me able to do live content or updates based on how the players are doing. The poor game made this year mixed with a lockout next year is gonna kill their game

@theShippKID_PSN To be honest, the entire AAA gaming industry is going down the tubes. This isn't something that is limited to just SDS studios. Gaming as a whole is turning into an extortion and poor quality, which is why I am finding myself playing mainly older games from over 10 years ago, mostly on PC.

@Good-Talk-Bud_XBL they actually have the chance to position themselves as saviors for whoever needs their baseball fix, but we’ll see if they are willing or able to do enough there
-
No disrespect but all of you sound like your whining. Are you all video game developers? What would you actually do to make the game better? If there is anything SDS can be blamed for is being semi-tone deaf. They've definitely upped their game with the amount of content being updated to the game consistently. Where they struggle is listening to the communities out there who dislike the game right now due to lack of detailed graphics for player likeness, flat commentary that comes across as repetitive. Madden updates their commentary i believe throughout the season or they should. I'm a Franchise guy for life and I like the changes made to the mode. For franchise, I'd like to see weather delays lead to cancellations and makeup dates or double-headers, a fake radio show like Madden did back in the day, and storylines to include the spring training experience that occurred right before the start of the season. Lastly...I have to say...as someone who has never really played Diamond Dynasty (DD) until 2026, I love the mode. I'm a collector at heart and I literally sell collectibles on Whatnot. I do think DD should allow Franchise to count for more xp and mission completion as we try to grind out everything the game has to offer. Thank you for listening. Nothing but love.

Everyone...respectfully, you don't know what you really have until it is gone. Be grateful...The Show, Madden, and 2K have all managed to hold our attention for many years now in all 3 major sports...basketball, baseball, and football.

@Messiah_Ortiz_84_PSN very low tier rage bait, there has been lots of good suggestions on what they can do better.
- Work on a strong anti cheat to deal with cheaters and bots (their current anti cheat is horrendous)
- Speed the app up, in past years the app ran smoothly, this year it’s been awful
- Up 20 card limit, this killed the investing side of the game
- Optimize menus in game, they’ve gotten better but these still are the slowest moving menus I’ve seen in years
This game feels like it’s a massive step backwards
-
@On_a_Power_Trip_PSN considering the massive letdown this year I doubt it. I’m just looking forward to when the sales tank when lockout hits and they have massive layoffs because of it. The lockout mixed with the bad game this year is gonna hurt bad next year. Even now the overall numbers for this game are far down compared to any mlb the show since 21. Surprising considering they had the wbc to work with at the start of the year and IRL baseball viewership doing so well

@good-talk-bud_xbl Not having baseball might make people actually want the game. You never know. I don’t recall any ill effects to NBA2k when the NBA season was locked out until February and that game is buggier than this game by a million.
