    I haven't logged in for over a week now and I don't really feel any desire to

    The main thing is its really a continuation of last years model: grind for stubs to buy cards instead of grind to earn cards. While this was always how the game worked to some degree, removal of TA and making programs low effort means I spend way less of my gameplay time grinding to earn cards. Grinding for stubs, or worse a chance at stubs, just isn't a compelling gameplay loop for me.

    One of the other big factors is that the mode designed for us to spend a lot of time in, mini seasons, has too many bugs in it. I know there was a patch for some of them, but when I am playing a mode that almost never shows correct stats it wears down on me over time. And I miss the longer seasons, but with the reward structure there is no incentive to play the longer ones

    Some of the other big contributors
    -collections, collections, collections
    -CPU inconsistency: commons and bronzes with pinpoint control and huge break, all the diving catches, etc. Yet no attempt made to make the CPU more competent at hitting
    -Weekend Classic creates content lulls
    -Inning paths are terrible, least exciting battle pass I have ever seen in games
    -Menu lag
    -No attempt to improve DQ
    -Incoming mobile game (not even a port)

    Yep I’m the least interested and having the least amount of fun I’ve ever had playing this game in 6 years. So I’ve backed way off and spend as little time as possible completing the programs and then turn it off. The urge to grind the game, progress, flip cards, and feel rewarded for my time is gone.

    @teak2112_mlbts agree with you 100%!

    Only thing that makes sense to me is that ALL resources: coding, planning, etc. has gone for the mobile game.

    This has been, by far, for me the most “interesting/challenging “ year for The Show

    It’s funny how putting down the Show is like putting down a beer or a drug habit

    If they’d have fixed bugs they’ve plagued the game forever as they occurred, it wouldn’t be so glaring. Release a complete game for once

    Yet we love baseball and continue to play it. If the AI/CPU were worth a [censored] I’d play franchise but it’s not fun knowing all you have to do, is pitch up in up in, low outside

    So the offline modes all suck

    Online is rife with bunt dancers and [censored] and just trolls. Guys so good they can smoke you with a 50 overall team and flaunt it, not because they’re good at baseball but because they are good at exploiting game mechanics that SDS never addresses. List will go on forever

    This probably annoys me the most TBH. I hate watching common defenders make highlight reel catches 5 or 6 times a game...especially when it's outfielders with sub-40 speed running things down like they're prime Juan Pierre

    removal of TA

    I'm not sure why they thought this was a good idea at all, honestly

    @Teak2112_MLBTS said:

    100% agreed. It's boring...and frankly extremely lacklustre.

    This is the crux of it all. They decided to do a mobile game that nobody asked for, let alone wanted. I've got the sneakiest suspicion that the reason this year's obsolescence was built in on purpose to try and shuttle people towards the mobile game.

    @Teak2112_MLBTS said:

    Don't even get me started on just how badly they've bungled that mode.

    @Sarge1387_PSN

    All of it just reeks. It sucks because there’s good gameplay here in the Show, they need to just fix it or rebuild from ground up.

    At this point it’s like a last ditch effort to make as much money as possible before the studio closes

    I blame Sony

    Pitcher confidence is everything in this game, some underlying system. If your pitcher confidence is low it makes your players play worse.

    Take note of that in any game you play, CPU or Human. It’s the stat the drives the game

    Kinda feels that way. Like a last push for money and not afraid to alienate the player base because it’s shutting down anyway. I really wouldn’t be shocked at all if Sony pulls the plug anytime now and maybe already has notified them that this year is it.

    Otherwise the terrible effort put out this year along with condescending communication on SDS part is almost inexcusable. The mobile game is doubling down to squeeze that last bit of juice out of the orange before it’s trashed.

    Yessir

    And also, Topps has always made the worst baseball cards their design always has. So Sony doubled down to pair with terrible graphic design.

    Fleer, Donruss, Upper Deck - why would they sign an exclusive thing with Topps

    Topps who makes horizontal cards to begin with. A bright shining bulb At Topps decided to make baseball cards lay the other way - and not only that most of the images they choose are stupid, and you also can’t read the players’ name

    Shh, that is the main reason I can still be competitive at veteran and sometimes all-star 🙂

    That’s what aggravates me is that the stats in the card mean zilch, they’re just bar graphs or numbers. It’s why people get annoyed at showdowns, diamond quest, anything and everything seems to be tied to pitcher confidence

    Your 99 shortstop will start making errors, just weird stuff

    For everyone who says this game is "cut and paste", this year's menu lag proves otherwise.
    At least previous versions would have this issue fixed by now.

    Quite right, this years version is worse. I got the game late this year (near the end of April) because I was already on the fence and like others have said i'm already pretty board with it. I have all of the AL TA at 70/80 % but i'm finding little motivation to even start the NL

    The ONLY thing I like about this year over previous years, is they have used quite a few new card photos/art. Such as the most recent Bryce Harper card and others. We have never seen that card before and that is refreshing. Aside from that, I think The Show is at an all time low. If ever there was a time for a competitor to emerge, it is now!!

    I think at some point, anyone reading this has loved this game. I’ve only been playing since the last 2 months of 25 but was obsessed instantly. It’s so frustrating there’s so many major problems currently with 26. The negative feedback is loud. And valid. The silence from sds is like, demoralizing. Forget about the market bots, the cheaters, wrong stats everywhere, menus, freezes, server issues, all the problems that exist in pretty much every mode of the game, the ridiculous xp path that was nearly impossible to finish and littered with prizes like 250 stubs, — and after all the bs you have to go through to actually play baseball - the pitching and hitting and general gameplay had major problems. I played with my son last night who quit after hitting 3 perfect perfect outs. He got so frustrated saying “what do I have to do.” I hate that the answer is I don’t know. When I open the companion app lately I’m hoping there’s an update that addresses much needed fixes. Being hit with the pop up ads to register for a mobile app version of the game is like a punch to the gut. Then seeing the companion app had 2 App Store updates in under 24 hours to fix something to do with the promotion of the upcoming mobile game is like a total fu. Ofc sds can fix stuff. Ofc they can do it quickly. At least they finally responded to all these problems with a big fu we don’t care. I’m super excited for the new mobile game. NOT!

    Im running out of motivation ad well. Did I see that we wont get any new content until the 28th!? This is a 3 day weekend, surely there will be somthing. For almost 2 weeks we get 1 Topps now program that take 2 hours.

    Also I checked my inning progress, and again from 300k xp to around 400k xp you earn like 3 packs. Not special store packs, just regular packs. Lame.

    I found myself bored and grinding the number one fan TA. Just aimlessly playing the game with players I dont care to play with until I accumulate an ungodly amount of pxp and stats just for the hopes if getting a good pull from a pack.

    Thats what this game is. Grind going grind then open up a ton of packs and get peanuts. Maybe if online play wasnt terrible it wouldnt be so bad, but it is.

    Also don't expect much from the 85 overall pack, I got a Kurtz

    Btw thats exactly what I have been doing, load up a team and play mini season trying to get to the 5/10/15 packs + ballin is a gold and see if I can pull Judge or Ohtani but it's getting old really fast this year.
