I cannot justify the time it takes to earn the XP required to finish the innings in the time allotted.
    It's that simple - I can't spend 2+ hours a day on this game - i just don't have time.
It's sad too because I like the game mode.

Only thing I can really do is stop buying the game every year and just play other modes.

It just kinda stinks that you can score over 20 runs in a game against the CPU and still earn less than 3k XP. I used to have games where I’d get 8K in a single CPU rookie game, 15k+ when it was double XP. That being said, there are also times like since the 3rd inning started for me that it seems like the sliders for exit velocities and hitting in general have been nerfed. When I do it perfects, it mostly gets caught by the superhuman CPU. I’m grinding stolen bases right now, so at least I’m staying out of double plays for the most part.

@MetalDoc17_XBL in any cpu mode, you should always be stealing second base...no reason to ever GIDP in those games

This post isn't really specific to the Show - every sports game requires you to treat it like a job if you intend to get progress. And you'll always be way worse than some 12-year old kid in Mexico City playing on a 10-inch TV.

I know some disagree, but I feel very strongly that this shouldn't award a lot of experience. It encourages you to play in a cheesy way. Which if you find fun more power to you, but too much of the game is centered around hitting HRs as it is (foam finger goals, 400 TB ranked track, etc)

Having xp tied to content is actually a good thing, since pxp already handles the performance aspect. However it needs to be both repeatable content and not rationed out so tightly

@Teak2112_MLBTS It’s a video game. It’s not a real game of baseball. It’s not a fun experience to play 30 minutes and win 3-0.

@rubicante23_PSN I’ll pass 500 stolen bases tonight. I know to steal bases. I also want the shark unis. My team name is Sharks. 😉

It looks like this inning will probably be fast to accrue xp compared to last. Harder of course for people who don't play online.

That was back before they very quietly cut XP gains in half...which I still maintain was a harbinger of the direction they wanted to go.

But weren’t innings (or seasons) like 1.25 million XP to get to the end? I can’t remember. So they cut XP in half, but then also cut requirements in half.

I could be misremembering that though.

I was gonna say that too. But I was trying to keep it to just XP talk. But yeah, 3 bosses to two. More packs to fewer packs… and more worthless ones.

I mean, free is free, so I get the “let’s not complain about it” crowd, but they definitely cheapied out the XP path.

    @Sarge1387_PSN

For sure. They have steadily cut xp and stubs for years while pushing monetization with packs and collections. Yes, it’s still better than other ultimate team games but it’s nowhere near as fun or rewarding as it was just a few years ago.

Sony and former EA suits and ties have ruined this franchise in the name of corporate greed. Anything to make a few extra bucks even if gameplay is held together with duct tape and chewing gum.

In the past when xp is undertuned for an inning they have corrected. Lets see what Friday is like.

But as people are saying its not like the xp path feels that rewarding anyway. Rewards are a little better this inning with more deluxe packs, but then you are likely to just get the low tier cards you already have. Why cant we have a mid round+ pack?

@JDHalfrack_PSN It’s still less rewarding than last year’s 3rd inning. What bothers me the most is they took out the useless icons which seem like a positive move, but added more xp between rewards. Compared to last years 3rd inning xp path:

    1 less regular pack
    Same amount of ballins
    2250 less stubs
    4 less headliners
    1 more card
    1 less boss
    1 live series diamond

Also, the first boss last year was at 245k and the second at the end 400k. Not a lot different, but definitely less rewarding. Not getting that 2nd boss early is the big hit unless you get lucky on that live series diamond.

They claim that cards like the Corbin Burnes is actually a “Boss” card that everybody “earns” in the reward path without having to select it. That’s what Ashley said during the SDS stream Friday.

@MetalDoc17_XBL Except they aren’t as good as the bosses and not as valuable to sell when you get there.

    Wait, I'll confused.

First there isnt enough XP to get to the Noss pack. Now there isnt enough tome to get to a Boss pack.

    🤔
