Favorite DD “Prospect” card that never really panned out
-
Wander Franco, that one didnt work out very well
[censored] - good call. Funny yet not funny, I was so good with his cards as I remember too
-
Bobby Miller

Jarred Kelenic. The show made a big deal out of his first game and being promoted. Just hasn’t clicked at all in the majors even though he is being every opportunity in the world with different teams.
-
Just looked back it was him Brendan McKay first pick to the rays as a 2 way went to Louisville and did have a 87 overall in mlb the show 20 i remember that card being elite on both sides of the ball.
-
He may have Jordan Walker disease IE they brought him up too early. He’s too young to give up but yeah his card raked
-
Funny enough the Mariners were criticized for not brining him up sooner and purposely extending his service time. One of among other reasons why their GM at the resigned for commenting on it and on other players.
-
Yep. All good, in due time
The immense amount of pressure on these kids is easy to write off but always remember how old they are, and the scrutiny they face and etc etc. I don’t feel sorry for them ever but management helps make them worse a lot of the time
I’ve only seen Griffin twice now since we’re finally playing an NL Central team but he ain’t Wetherholt. They need to send him back down. They’re trying to skenes him

Billy Beane.

The elephant in the room... wander franco. The pos.

Future Stars (players who had already debuted in MLB) started in 2017.
Prospects (those who had not yet debuted) began in 2020.
Draft cards started in 2023. -
Yoan Moncada, he has gotten a diamond here and there over the years but has never(I don't think) been above a silver. He was one of the first future stars.

And the Mets were HEAVILY criticized for trading him. Rightfully so at the time.

I also remember to go along with my Brendan McKay one Eloy Jimenez also had a rly good one in I think 19 or 20 was a future starts card it dropped with a tatis card.

Draft cards started in 2023.Yeah I think this post would encompass all those for us old timers
Besides for Carlson there was a Gorman in one of those that raked too.
Wish they’d teach all these kids to switch hit
So they’d be relevant in MLB the Show

Wander Franco, that one didnt work out very well
obligatory ''tough break, good kid'' post

Kieboom and Brujan are both great calls! I always loved those Brujan cards. Reminded me a little of the Dee Gordon cards which I also love.

But he hit it hard and to all fields. He’d fit into the presidential cabinet. Look for him to be exonerated
SDS could have him back on a presidential conquest map theme
Oh they don’t do conquest maps anymore

@JenkinMeyer_PSN Send him back down to accomplish what? He is coming along just fine. The minors hold nothing for him. He needs to see big league pitching. Hitting .221 right now is not the end of the world. He can easily get to .238

Yeah you’re right. I just want him to be good I guess. Me even saying it had him hit a bomb off of our tater bronze pitchers
Anyway I just want a lasting good Pirates team in the NL to compete in the cellar with us Cardinals

Well, we are not in the cellar yet. In fact as of right now we are the third wildcard team (way too early). Now we could still end up in the cellar but I like the fact that the offense never gives up. According to Fangraphs the Cardinals Offense is 6th in WAR (8th in Offense and 6th in Defense).
We just have to hope that some of those pitchers we traded for, which there were a bunch, pan out. Why? Because Fangraphs has our pitching staff currently at 28th in War. Only 4 teams have a worse ERA and that says a lot when you have one of the better defenses in the league.
