The Show FINALLY has competition now!
-
@Sarge1387_PSN, it's amazing how much of a difference it makes when the physics more accurately reflect real life. And I don't know about you, but one of the things that makes it far and away superior, for me, is the more realistic depiction of time in-play; a ball can actually hang in the air for 3 to 4 seconds without a fielder being able to get to it... it takes a while for a slower outfielder to get to the corner to grab a ball rattling around there.
And after roughly 40 or so games played between the free version and the Japanese 2024-2025 game, I have yet to see a superball bounce ground-rule double.

It would be great if MLB got rid of 18 teams so Sony could focus on just a dozen teams and stadiums and zero minor league teams.

Unfortunately regardless of how much better the graphics engine is or game mechanics are. Any game without the MLB license, players, stadiums, ect is not gonna do well here in the US. That's just how it is. I just get that feeling at no point regardless how good it is as a next gen baseball game it will never be seen as competition to The Show.

the graphics alone will sell this game to baseball gamers plus the reduced price tag.

Nah. I'd rather play something like OOTP or that ilk that has an MLB license and 8 bit graphics than something that looks great but no MLB.

Unless they pay for MLB licensing, they are not competition.

I'm getting Nippon Baseball day one but its no competition.
Until Pro Spirit has 90 plus playable teams instead of 12
a hundred stadiums instead of less than 20
2700 players instead of less than a third of that
Comparing what PYS does to what The Show does is like comparing what a foot doctor does to what a neurosurgeon does. PYS Isn't brain surgery but it doesn't mean it can't find its niche with the foot fetish crowd. -
Your neurosurgeon makes many mistakes. The foot doctor knows that what PYS does that The Show does not, anymore, is pay attention to how the game of baseball actually moves when constrained by the laws of physics.
I'd take a good foot doctor over a bad neurosurgeon any day, and if the "fetish" in this awful metaphor is a better reflection of the game of baseball (you know, the game, not the brands), then, if the shoe fits...
You're right, though. The Show will be more popular.

@StinkyMcPooter_XBL Just like with 2k All Pro Football 08 it had the same engine, updated graphics and game play from 2k5. What it didn't have was the NFL/NFLPA licence and that's why it tanked.

If I needed a foot doctor more, that's what I'd choose, a good foot doctor.
And if I needed a neurosurgeon, I guess I'd be S.O.L. lol
