Beginner just throws strikes dead center (or tries to)

All it does is throw different pitches aimed at center plate

    Rookie is definitely not that

@Easy_Duhz_It__PSN I thought that was kind of the point because new players will abandon before they get good.

If new players cant get good playing on beginner/rookie, this just isnt the game for them.

I'll admit- I got worked by the CPU last night on AS, gave up an inside the park homerun in the 10th, the strike zone shrunk by a huge margin, I couldn't find zone and it forced me deeper into the zone- it happens, but then the precision ring screwed me. Now there were a couple caveats. First. I was breaking in a new precision ring, so getting my fielders to do anything more than a brisk walk was a chore and a half- basically anything shallow dropped in. Secondly, the bronze starter they used was dotting like crazy, and anything I did make contact with was either a fly out (had a couple 98 mph exit velos die on the track in almost exactly the same spot in back to back AB's), or a "roll over"- that in an of itself is a huge problem too, way too many things coming off as roll overs despite solid contact-

I used to wreck on AS and have these troubles on HOF or above...I don't know what they did but Vet is definitely more difficult than in years past even though I still do well...but it's like there's almost too big of a jump between the two. I prefer to play on AS because that's usually where I am online. Just needs to be more balanced

Diamond dynasty plays different and is harder than regular modes like franchise or rtts.

Some people complain it's too easy so I think you are in the wrong here

You act like you're too good to practice or play other modes than complain when you aren't good. Btw . Rookie plays like all-star difficulty plus you are playing juiced cards and legends.

Stop whining it's unbecoming and if you're kids think it's too hard than teach them because most people don't want it to be easier.

Be creative with your lineup. Chandler simpson at leadoff, PCA 2nd. Put a lot of speed and SBs in your lineup, high vision with good contact Stan Musial, and keep speed on the bench for pinch runners. Adjust the strike zone view and do your best to avoid swinging at balls. I know it sounds simple, but keep at it. It can be frustrating.

I am sure this may have been posted before but here is what is commonly accepted advice for getting more consistent results at the plate:
•camera: the strike zone cameras are the most commonly recommended. I use strike zone 1. It helps see you see the ball better.
Also, put your pitching camera on the same setting. Doubles you reps and helps you identify pitches.
•Figure out pci movement: there are two main options: the foam rings or pci sensitivity. I use the rings. It works for me. But they help avoid stick slamming. With this there are different grips that help you make subtle movements. Look into this and figure out what works for you.
•learn to ID strikes. This is just reps. It’s also baseball. You need to work counts and look for your pitch. It’s frustrating at first and takes a bit of time. But if you are swinging at junk you are going to get junk results.

This is a game of failure, and this video game reflects that to a degree. Good luck and there is hope. Not many of us picked up pci hitting in day.

^^ what other ultimate team mode makes you do all that for the lowest difficulty setting?

Rookie CPU should throw far more strikes than it does. Get people used to the timing first.

The issue is that SDS doesnt want skilled people bashing the rookie CPU (and completing everything in 10 minutes instead of 30 I guess)

No other ultimate game is like mlb the show. Fut hut and mut all buttons. None of them require you to visual lineup up a pci and hit at the same time. If anything it should help you with timing and help you see what a bad pitch looks like to try and help your eye adjust to bad pitching. Those other three modes have clear exports you can run all game.
