This game is way too hard for beginners
-
@dr_zoidberg25_MLBTS For a younger kid, I’d suggest road to the show on beginner.
-
GoozeFn_PSN could very easily have something to do with it.
-
This is exactly my point. The elitists need to realize this game will never be hard enough for them. It’s made for everyone not just them. Being great at the game already gives players a huge advantage and allows them to accomplish things much easier and much faster than the majority of the player base. Just make rookie play like rookie and put the moments on rookie as well.
-
Yep, it could appeal much more to kids if lower difficulties actually allowed them to build confidence.
-
Rookie and Veteran difficultly are both extremely easy. Wait for a good pitch and clobber it. Work the count. It's baseball.
All-star difficultly is the default game difficulty and I win and lose games on that level.
Rookie and veteran - you can't lose if you pay attention. -
@GoozeFn_PSN
Yes that’s quite possibly true. But wouldn’t that affect outcomes more than swing timing? I’m not sure exactly how it works, but I don’t complain that often about bad outcomes like perfect-perfect line outs. I don’t need every hit to be a homer. I’m just trying to figure out why I’m swinging late on rookie way more often than in ’25. -
@GoozeFn_PSN
Hitting is the biggest problem for me. I use zone hitting offline and timing or directional online. But I’ve done no online this year. -
@markemark_NSW Do you play on a monitor or TV. What console do you play on? There are things you can do that help immensely with input timing.
-
@markemark_NSW Directional is awful. I’d at least do the new big zone hitting if you try online.
-
@GoozeFn_PSN
Not sure about how to go about improving inputs. I use switch and Roku. -
@markemark_NSW Ok now it all makes sense. Switch is incredibly difficult on any level. I don’t think there’s anything that can help. This game plays very different between switch and ps5/xbox.
-
I love the it’s baseball excuse to cover every flaw in this game. Point being rookie and veteran should be easier hitting and far less super dotting and web gem plays. Hinting your pitch is fine but shouldn’t have to work a 3-2 count every at bat on rookie just to play the game. It doesn’t have to be meatball vs super dotting there can be a middle ground that makes playing far more enjoyable and learning the game mechanics far more digestible.
-
@GoozeFn_PSN
That doesn’t surprise me about the switch, but it still doesn’t explain the fall off for me since’25. using the switch is all I know, and it’s distinctly harder this year for me on those two easy levels. and what about the other people who say the levels are too hard? I don’t think we were all switch users.I do appreciate your responses. And I wasn’t saying you were trolling, but that trolls are making appearances in threads like this one just to make fun of other players.

The biggest issue I have with the Rookie and Veteran is how inconsistent they are. One game they pitch meatballs middle/middle and you hit 20 nukes. They next game they are dotting pitches with a common/low bronze, throwing sinker cheese over and over, and in the field they have super speed and super jump to rob base hits. Most don't want batting practice or a sweaty cpu experience, they want something in between...consistency. It's really not that hard to ask for or deliver.
-
@markemark_NSW I’ve been playing this game every year for most of the year. It’s really the only game I play. I have a good read on it and I haven’t noticed any difference at all. What makes me skeptical, is every single year someone says this. Almost every update, people say this, even when no gameplay changes have been made. This is the first time in a few years I haven’t played on Switch though.
-
I play on Nintendo switch and don't have a problem with hitting, even my 10 year old nephew played this game with my settings and wasn't complaining about how hard it was to hit. That's with me using zone hitting with the PCI and he had no problem at all

Yeah but were you beating him with a club while your nephew played?
-
@theblindrhino_psn nope, he asked me to let him play so I agreed and he actually had fun too lol

So you have no frame of reference here, Donny. You're like a child who wanders into the middle of a movie and wants to know...

LOL this post is wild. Rookie and Veteran is too hard!!??? Sounds like a user issue. Keep practicing or find another game that fits your level and mental capacity. There are no shortcuts (unless you cheat) maybe get a game modifier and hit homeruns every time. But dumbing the game down to fit you isn't the answer. I have a feeling this was a trolling post, nonetheless get in the lab and practice.
