What happened to offline content?
-
Having no new content for a week is just bad management when we are in the first month of the mlb season.
-
Do kids today even understand the idea of grinding? Everyone is always so happy when programs and reward paths are short - why, so you can be done in five days and have no progression path to work on? The idea of the "long grind" seems to be lost.
-
@NotesOfJohn_PSN There were innings last year when I was done by the second day. I’m only around 300k and I play a ton. I saved some conquest/program xp too. There’s going to be a lot of people who don’t finish this inning.
-
Make the conquest maps repeatable with SELLABLE ITEMS. Such a massive L on the behalf of SDS.
-
Its 24 all over again. Weak programs that take 20 minutes to do and plenty of packs to buy.
-
Lots of Ls this year.

Content release:
2019-2021: amazing
2022-2024: FOMO
2025: balanced
2026: crawl -
I don't understand why they don't have staggered TA content like in the past. I keep reading what is there now is all there is for the year, hoping that is false but I've read it in several threads already. I know they got rid of MtO because I guess I was the only one playing it, but why not do a TA/mini-season combo where you have to win a season with an single franchise team or something similar? I love missions where I have to make a roster work with limited or underdog cards.

Unfortunately they did say this was it for TA this year. Because people complain that everything takes too long and is too hard. So they make everything shorter and easier, and then people complain that there is nothing to do. I mean we have a whole thread on here with a bunch of replies about how Rookie is too hard.
-
That's comparing apples and oranges. Yes Rookie is harder this year, so less Ks per game for pitching and less runs scored overall in Rookie games. But that doesnt make the complete lack of length or depth of offline content any better. They aren't appeasing anyone, all they are going to see is a falloff of player count as the year progresses due to nothing to do, and less renewals next year as it feels like the MLB the Show franchise is on a severe down trend.
-
Yep, having played ever MLBTS since 2006 and DD since 2020 it really feels like they are mailing it in. Doing everything they can to patch together a broken gameplay engine. Monetizing live series and packs as much as possible with horrendous scummy odds to get every last bit of profit out of the current player base before they bail this year, maybe for good.

And here is a secret for SDS:
If I am unhappy with the offline content Im not going to start playing online more, Im just going to play the game less. Which means very little chance for me to care when you do a flash sale if I need to top up for a fomo gamble.
-
That’s just it. By short changing offline players we don’t jump to play online we just walk away.

@Precisionist99_XBL you're right on with this post. There are a ton of ways that they could give you to use all the other cards in your binder - all those cards that you barely ever play with because you have a ton of better options. There are online ways and offline ways to do it - Events does it a little tiny bit (but even Events doesn't give you reason to build most kinds of theme teams), and there's nothing offline to promote it.
WBC was great launch day content. But, there's no long-term progression path. It's just a bunch of quick "ten minutes and you're done" content.
