20 Card Max

@LHUBison58_XBL live series diamonds are on the exact same pace as past years. They slowly decrease as the year goes on (minus the 90+s). Ohtani is more this year than any past game though. Overall I don’t think the cop out of market health makes sense with the current state of the market
-
By September(and I haven’t bothered to look this data up) the crash occurs. I could see it before that this year. But this is all guessing. But I do know the gold and low diamond market is cooked. I’m also interested to see team makeups in this weekend classic. I know I’m only playing the following LS cards in my lineup: Corbin Carrol (p5) and Judge (p5) and possibly JRam (p5). Everyone else is a program card or LS collection card. I will have Ohtani until his first start then I’m yanking him and putting in Leiter. I just want that extra bat on the bench for the first four games. I’m not sure many of the LS diamonds are better than the current program cards.

@Teak2112_MLBTS I like it how sds decided to worry about a card limit this year instead of any kind of counter to cheating via Cronus. It’s been insanely bad on 2k they had to have figured out it was gonna be bad for mlb too. Last I seen in the top 300 players less than 10% were actual players the rest obvious bots. Absolutely clueless company. I promise you multiple people are gonna be replaced if they don’t turn the game around. It’s the last good year Sony is gonna have with a mlb game for probably at last A year, and sds is blowing it.
-
the vast majority of golds and low diamonds were going for quick sell at this time last year too, thats nothing different. Maybe they settled to quick sell a bit faster.
-
@Teak2112_MLBTS thats not even remotely how supply and demand works at all
-
@ApolloZ_99_MLBTS or ask for less, and more free stuff. there is a fine line, its hard for any company to make money and make the community happy.
-
@Gone-Viral_XBL almost every card in Mut is a re-release or an LTD. Mut gameplay alone is a turn-off. Never played CUT. But most seem to prefer it to Mut. I mean Mut basically just dropped a Lamar card that was unobtainable unless you spent hundreds of dollars in real money.
-
@Grungypunk_MLBTS they could make it a little easier but these collections are supposed to take a little bit or time. You shouldn’t have 3 99s within the first month of a game release.
-
@LIONED-33_XBL community ain’t ever really happened in a sports game. If it’s not collections or pricing then it’s something with gameplay. Which is the problem with a yearly release.

There are always going to be competing positions within a community. The obvious two are
Some people want the game be purely skill based and some prefer it to play like baseball
Some people like grinds, some people want low effort contentThey will never be bale to make everyone happy

@ApolloZ_99_MLBTS from 2018-2022 you did. And it was healthy and everyone benefited.
I dont give a rats [censored] about the 100 people it benefits.
I want the game, the games economy.
To benefit everyone who logs into and plays mlb the show
-
@Grungypunk_MLBTS And the bottom line is it's not a free economy right now, it's an economy with restrictions. I understand the 20 card limit is trying to prevent so much stub flow but where did they arrive at 20 from? It seems like such a small number.

I mean, its better for me.
I make way more stubs this year compared to the last couple years because of the increased packs
And non live series cards are in good shape in general.I cant compare to 2018. Nor do i care to. Game is still extremely NMS friendly. Maybe its less live series collection month 1 friendly.

@peelwonder_PSN its not just the 20 card limit on its own. People listen please.
Yall get off to only fans girls.
I get off to math we aint the same.
This is all simple math.
The 20 card limit(2026)
️ cards quick sell values capped(2022/2023)
️additions of no sale cards(2022/2023) = thr current market we have todayIn early 2020s trout was 500k.
Ar 1st glance ooooo thats 200k less tha. Sheoi today.
Gues what.
In 2026 ALL GOLDS,SILVERS, AND BRONZES dont add up to 100k.
Youd have to collect the entire mlb rosters sell them roughly 15 times just to afford shoei.
When trout was 500k.
All golds silvers and bronzes added up to 1 million.
Meaning eve. If you pulled golds n silvers.
You could sell your duplicates and buy the 500k mike trout in roughly a weak of juat selling your duplicates.
Back in 2020. You had golds going for 4-7k eack
And some silvers going for 1k each
And bronzes going for 500 stubs.
I can buy an entire team today with like 1800 stubs. Because golds, silvers and bronzes are worth literally [censored] in todays game.
Allll of the market value has shifted to the top 5 cards making 99.8% of the other cards have no value.
So the only cards worth literally anything is the cards that have a 1% drop rate and everyone would have to open 10000 packs.
-
@Grungypunk_MLBTS Nice summation actually, lowering the QS values on Golds really mucked it up.
-
@peelwonder_PSN sds is handling the market the same way madden and 2k and fifa.
I'm done with mlb the show after this year im just gonna stick to the offine game modes and never buy another game.
We currently have some of the best baseball players in decades so mlb the show 26 will last me atleast 10 years.
I made it to championship series several years consistently only made it to world series once because they fed up weekend classic and i played people i shouldn't have and i got over world series by 15 points ...it was fun competitively for several years, it scratched my competitive itch and re-fueled my love for baseball but ironically it also killed my love for baseball.
Sds is on its path to be like madden.
I wont buy anymore sports games.
When i get the itch to play a sports game I'll just play franchises or something.
I'm gonna invest my time in other games
-
Grungypunk_MLBTS you literally can’t make a game that caters to every single person. You will always want more. The collection shouldn’t be obtained in a month. There have always been gatekeepers regarding the love series collection. Not everyone single person who buys mlb the show should just be able to complete a collection like that in the first month. It should be a grind somewhat
-
All, I can say is that I am glad I play offline and go into the season with the mindset that I will not complete many, if any collections. I just try to earn the Cardinal cards I want to play with and anything beyond that is a bonus. Much less stressing out that way. I play when I feel like playing and don't when I don't.
I know that 99 Pujols is probably beyond my reach unless I pull Ohtani in a pack and even then it would still be iffy. I have made my peace with that.
-
@Grungypunk_MLBTS you're talking about a video games economy. If you want to work an economy go to Robinhood that's my point by saying that. Collections within the first month of the game with 3 99s and multiple high 90s doesn't make sense with the way the power creep is going this year. The amount of people trying to flip cards has exponentially increased since 2018-2022. Demand is higher than ever before and ohtani and judge are better than any LS card that was in 2018-2022. LS collection will play longer than any other year this year and everything is up rn bc WC is coming up. It's never been easier to earn packs play the game you'll get better earn more packs more rewards all of which can help you with LS collection. No major pulls and I'll have it done in a month and a half. You're living in the past things aren't what they used to be demand all time high rn.
