Future stars is a joke

I play NBA 2K as well and there is a game that is nowhere near reality when it comes to the cards they release. It just seems like SDS is following along. I would much rather play with cards that have realistic stats instead of this fantasy land garbage.

It’s more fun using cards of a player’s best season and seeing the actual topps cards, rather than some cards with made up attributes and artwork done by some intern in the studio.

If we are going full fantasy land juice up established players that have proven themselves. Make Brett Gardner a 95, give judge 100 vision. Who ever the fan favorites are just put the cards on steroids. Why are we making unproven prospects rated as high as mike trout, it’s ridiculous. All the talk about the three year average and player ratings blah blah blah, then they come out with this [censored]. Live series cards are 100% worthless and that’s a shame

Better versions of players who have done nothing at the MLB level to warrant them, to devalue both their own existing cards as well as LS cards.
So you hate all the Face of Franchise cards?
I don't "hate" any cards, but at least FotF cards are players who have actually played in MLB and put up some numbers...but I'm sure Madrigal will be better than Gallo, no doubt.

With 100 years of baseball history, why do we need mega-turbo cards of guys who never played a game in the bigs?
Makes zero sense.
SDS --- please end this nonsense forever. Drop these prospect and future cards and never, ever bring them back.
Ever.

This is one of the reasons why I miss 17 so much. You could actually take the field with a team of live series players and compete. Guys like Trout, Harper, Bryant, Lindor, etc. They were usable!
Now the best player in the MLB, who is already a first-ballot Hall-of-Famer, and could very well go down as the greatest player of all time, sits at a 95 OVR. He’ll probably get a better card (e.g., a 99 Signature Series or something), but that’s completely stupid because he’s never been better. That’s why these fantasy cards [censored] me off. They pretty much make live series/single season cards useless.
-
Live Series were usable in previous installments during the season with Inside Edge. I think Live Series stats are somewhat nerfed due to this, however the Live Series is obviously stagnant this year.

Maybe next month they can put out a 99 future legend card
off topic but we are PSN friends and I have no idea who you are. Lol.

Still waiting for Alex Reyes to prove he was worth that 88 or Kyle Tucker if you remember his future stars oh and don't forget everyones favorite rookie of the year future hall of famer Andrew Benintendi and his 95 because he is clearly ever going to be on equal footing with trout in a category other than fly balls to the noggin

Since we are making cards up, can I get a JD Martinez with Diamond Fielding?

Add Nelson Cruz to that list too please

I mean, if they didn't do this, you would all complain that every lineup looks the same. You would say that you're tired of facing the same guys over and over, and you wish there had been more variety.
Don't believe me? Scan the forums for people complaining about facing Kluber on repeat. Ya'll hate everything. Maybe tomorrow you'll complain that SDS is still using the ps4 controller in 2020.

There are too many players to draw from in mlb history to do this fantasy land [censored]. Single seasons bests from literally anyone but unproven prospects. They are basically CAPs by sds, zero basis in reality. And we just did this w prospects and this is waaaaay worse. Is it that hard to grasp there little buddy?

THIS NEW CARD SHOULD BE A GAVIN LUX. Future stars should be guys that have had some big league time or are right there about to get the call up. They gave Madrigal the PROSPECT card for a reason so he shouldn't even have been considered for a future stars card. If they were thinking of a second baseman for the first Future Stars card, then Gavin Lux is the perfect fit.

Same opinion as me. It was about 50/50 with me getting lit up, and those agreeing with me on Twitter. By the look of it, age is the main factor on which direction people side with. Older want realism and historical players. Younger want newest players and fantasyland.

I’m 20 and I would much rather have single season cards. They’re more interesting imo, and it’s more fun putting together a team of guys’ best seasons instead of just some made up prospect cards.
Granted, I would rather have flashbacks of current players, but still.

As long as I get an Eloy Future Stars card I'll be happy.
