MLB The Show 26 Review
-
@isthischriss_XBL they arnt going to fix anything. Why do you think they are trying to make this an offline game! Why do you think they took all the good rewards away from the online modes? Its because they know their servers cannot handle it! What other reason is there? Ask yourselves this? What sports games are mainly offline games? None of them! Its like call of duty saying we want everyone to play offline. A huge portion of the shows player base are online players, why are they leaning against them? Lets play mini seasons and conquest all year over and over and over. Sounds fun. They are about to lose a good portion of their online player base.

@Weshill627_PSN you are preaching to quire
It’s spelled choir, not quire, for future reference.
-
This Game suck disconect all the time from online play
-
@a761506_MLBTS I fixed it for you. Spell check, grammar police dweeb.
-
@DeleteyourTTVBTW_MLBTS he makes a lot of good points. Especially about online play. Do you want to sit on the game and play mini seasons over and over all year? Offline players are lame. Chickens who are scared of competitive gaming.
I know this is a hard concept for some people but not everyone is playing this game to be competitive lol…Some people just enjoy toking up & chillin while playing a no stress game against a cpu that isn’t going to throw a tantrum when it falls behind.
Just because you measure your masculinity & worth in how well you play a baseball game on xbox doesn’t make it truth.
-
@The412Smoke_XBL Yes, and those are the people who SDS cater to & now you see how terrible DD is. Its funny how it started as a competitive mode. Now its not & zero reason to play online.
-
@The412Smoke_XBL no its because offline play for the most part is boring. Why are you grinding cards to stare at them? Im grinding cards because I want to at least be competitive in online modes. I dont care if I lose id prefer to win but dont care. The experience of playing against other actual human players instead of playing a computer ai everyday. Different generation maybe. I grew up playing madden online, call of duty online. You little offline wimps are just afraid to lose. Who cares if you lose. Thats how you get better. You all want participation trophies.
-
@Weshill627_PSN Sds will realise it soon when they lose 30 percent of their player base. Because they want to cater to one side. Cause they are not intelligent enough to cater to both offline and online players at the same time. Go figure they cater to the softies who only want to play offline.

There has always been a balance issue with DD when it comes to online/offline. You gotta grind all this offline content to be able to get the new cards for your online team, but find yourself not having as much time for online because you're always grinding offline just to keep up with everything. I have no idea who has the time for both.
-
@SakAttack87_PSN agreed! Thats why they need more online grinding. The way they had it with event programs and br programs just two years ago was fine. They even had ranked stat programs. Why they went away from it is beyond me. At least they came back with event programs this year on a smaller level.

@Ditka06-_MLBTS I’ll try to explain one more time, Then I’ll just move on….I am decent online, Usually make WS 2 or 3 times per game cycle. The problem I have is that 75% of the player base are sore losers/toxic players. Most games they either quit after immediately falling behind, bunt dance, keep playing the pause game, ect…I would rather just have a chill regular baseball experience with the cpu playing some conquest or mini seasons. Now if SDS ever comes up with a matchmaking system that matches you with similar players (Skill & behavioral patterns) then I might prefer online more. But until that day, I’m totally fine playing more offline than online.

I find myself playing more and more offline for same reason - except playing offline is so horrendously boring anymore. It really is:
Pitching: FB FB, offspeed. Strikeouts. So no real strategy there.
Hitting: wait for a strike, which takes painfully long to ever get. Hit a Homerun on it. Or foul one up when it’s middle of plate.
The problem is that offline CPU games seem like difficulty sliders are cranked in different modes or difficulty levels to the point of just being annoying. Moments take forever, Diamond Quest/Showdown feels like it’s way different gameplay than Conquest or play vs. CPU.
All CPU teams have sped up or adjusted defense sliders even if they are common players so much that you don’t even feel like your team is better than them. Etc
I’d never play this game if I couldn’t play against people online - and I SUCK [censored] online - but when matchmaking works it’s an actual game of baseball and it’s so fun.
I don’t care about my record or anything, could care less if I lose. It’s way more fun to play online.
In its current state.
-
@The412Smoke_XBL I cant disagree there. Alot of toxic players for sure. But thats part of the online experience. Who cares if we lose its still just a game. Just trying to get better. Beats the boring offline grind every day. Im 0 and 5 in events right now. I suck. you think I care. I played nothing but toxic pros or children my first 5 games. One game I lost getting bloopers on me. Whatever. Dont care. Btw I never quit, I dont care if im down 20 to 0. How am I gonna get better if I dont play these no life losers? There is really only one thing I care about. My batting averages. Thats really how i figure out how im actually doing. Because the games rng will favor another team at times.
-
Not quitting is key - I don’t ever quit unless I have to take a [censored] or dog needs out or what have you - I don’t even pause most of the time. I don’t care about losing whatsoever - no one should - unless you’re a streamer no one cares about your record.
More people should engage online - and they would - if the matchmaking system took into account player record/rating across all game modes.
I’d love to play events and I do, but if I have 3 hours to play the game I don’t want to be matched with guys where I’m down 11-0 in the first before I bat. It’s a waste of my time.
It sucks to every single event entry have to have your rating reset so you’re playing WS players etc. sure you CAN beat them but they’re so much better it’s like playing tee ball vs. pros.
They’ve got to make their matchmaking better
-
@JenkinMeyer_PSN their matchmaking in battle royale and events has always been terrible!! And all the pros are on right now btw.. easter weekend. But guess what im playing these pros anyway. Because there is an actual event online grind. So im playing. May take me 20 games to get 5 wins lol
