Name a legend that moves the needle.
-
I believe they need to continue putting legends that have been ostracized by baseball in the game, Pete Rose for one maybe not the ones that are still alive that had/having issues with domestic violence or other issues with the law but steroid era, and legends that have passed away particularly the ones that have passed away, we can still honor their greatness on the diamond, we can't throw the baby out with the bathwater. I know there are NIL issues as well, how about as much as SDS is able too.

I miss Lofton and Alomar

Pete Rose admitted to having [censored] with a 16 year old when he was 34.
Rivera's case is still ongoing, and is a very serious coverup if true.
The rest of the names, other than Cobb, are domestic violence cases.I suspect Cobb just wasn't used enough to justify the cost his estate is charging. Not because a writer slandered him.
Schilling is a prime example of a guy, however, that should be in game. But I also suspect he is the type of person to tell SDS to get bent.

What?!? I don't know what rock I've been under, I didn't know that about Rose. Scratch Rose then that's horrible!
-
@DrBear100_PSN I could not care less about Kirby Puckett and unsubstantiated 25 year old allegations. These things have nothing to do with baseball. I get not putting say Wander Franco in the game and Alomar because his ban probably prevents them from using him, but some of these guys they are avoiding are clearly political.
-
@Teak2112_MLBTS Id bet they haven’t even tried to get Schilling purely because of politics.
-
I want Bonds, but he doesn't want to be in.
I begged him on Twitter, when it was named that. I left shortly after the name change! 'X' is an incredibly dumb name. People still call tweets: 'tweets ' That says it all.
Curt Schilling, Pete Rose, Del Unser, my favorite all-time Met, but he wasn't a superstar. Mitch Williams, maybe.
I preordered anyway.
Beltran was amazing. How do they top him? -
Robin ventura was my favorite player... So him
-
@TheGoaler_MLBTS I don’t think they can top Beltran, but they don’t have to. I just hope it’s not that Pujols card. Going from arguably the best reward we’ve ever had to the worst in a year without many exciting new features will be rough.
-
For me it's Juan Gonzalez. It's literally the reason i skip on DD every year and play Franchise instead. Being able to create some of those iconic Texas lineups from the 90's is just too much fun. No offense to DD though it looks promising this year and with Pujols back i may just cave and play the mode. Unfortunately Texas isn't well represented. Sorry Kinsler & Young not the Rangers legends I am looking for. Other needle mover names would be Canseco, Belle, of course Arod, Bonds. Either way you can guarentee ill be creating these players on night one of early release. It's a win win either way when ya just love the history of baseball.

I mean, 'unsubstantiated allegations' is sugarcoating it a bit. he was acquitted in a court case, but both his wife and mistress had calls to the police about him as well.
Now that I think of it, Lofton I believe sent certain pics. Not defending that, but I wouldn't be shocked if he finds his way back in. But we don't even have the budget version of him (Juan Pierre) in game either as its not a popular archetype. Kenny Lofton has a far higher career WAR than I bet most of us realize though
But all of these cases are speculation (well besides Alomar really), for all we know SDS contacted Puckett's estate and they said no. And they contacted Lofton and got back something that looks like some ranked team logos I have seen
-
@Teak2112_MLBTS That’s not what happened with Puckett. He came back in 21 with an 89 at launch. People criticized them because of that controversy. He didn’t get another card and he was gone the following year.
-
Depends on what kind of needle we’re talking about. Bonds, ARod, and Canseco all moved plenty of needles. McGwire, Sosa, Ortiz, and Palmeiro are all also bigtime needle movers who are in the game.
-
I get everything you say. Someone like Puckett most people who play video games I feel will be like, oh cool, Kirby and play him not stopping to think about any allegations just because he is a legend. Someone like Rose okay, I get it there is obviously way too much baggage with him. I think it would be the same for the steroid era players that people will oh cool, look at what I got and use their cards. I assume it's scant minority that complains about such players while the majority can careless. Maybe I'm wrong.
-
I tend to agree. Especially for guys like Puckett that arent profiting off it anyway.
-
@DrBear100_PSN With Pete Rose dead and reinstated, he should be brought into the game.
-
If we ever lose Honus Wagner, my heart will break into a million pieces.

I get both sides of the argument, he carries [censored] ton more baggage then most that found their way into trouble, I do lean towards letting him into game. He's not going profit off of it being dead. He's estate would though.
-
@DrBear100_PSN I doubt many fans of this game care about his controversy.
