I agree 100%, also please remove the dirt on cleats. I’m tired of always use white cleats to see it clean at least.

And please, give an option to maintain the equipment original colors, especially on the gloves!!!

if they can’t get the new Nike equipment added to the game before release that will be a major disappointment.

That's less of an SDS call and more of a Nike call.

@SaveFarris_PSN In what way? Are you saying Nike has to give approval to use their new cleat/equipment models? SDS is the one building the models in the game, not Nike.

@SaveFarris_PSN Yeah, but there has been Nike and many other brands equipment in the game for years. You’re suggesting Nike isn’t willing to give them rights to the new models? It’s been happening for years, that doesn’t make sense.

Have you tried to buy and sell Nike Equipment on the market the past 2 years?

@SaveFarris_PSN Absolutely not, 100% an SDS call. You think Nike, who obviously already has an agreement with SDS is just not going to allow SDS to use their newest equipment? Look at all the equipment in other sports games. Nike gets advertising for products in the game, why would they only allow SDS to have products they don’t even sell anymore in the game? Take a look at the different fielding glove models and customization options and you’ll see everything you need you to know to conclude SDS doesn’t give a rats you know what about the equiptment in the game.

Thank you for confirming you don't know who licensing agreements work. Did Paramount have the rights to use the X-Men characters last decade because they had a contract with Marvel?

@SaveFarris_PSN It’s not just Nike, it’s nearly every brand that’s in the game. We have had almost identical gear for almost every brand for the past 5 years. You’re right, I’m no expert on licensing agreements, but I know enough about marketing to know that these baseball brands aren’t all limiting SDS on what they can put into the game equipment wise, especially mostly baseball exclusive brands like Rawlings, Easton, G-Form, Evoshield, etc. who don’t have any license agreements with any other sports games and could use the marketing to sell their equipment to kids who see certain gear in game. Again, look at the amount of Nike, Under Armour, and Adidas gear in 2K and Madden and explain why they’re gatekeeping MLB The Shows equipment while allowing Madden and 2K to use hundreds of different models of gear with the newest gear and items being added every year without ever getting rid of old gear

Am I free to market Rawlings, Easton, G-Form, Evoshield products without their express, written consent?

    You sure?!?

@SaveFarris_PSN while SDS might not be free to post anything they want I agree there’s no reason Nike would ever want to limit any of their gear being in the game. I don’t see Nike being the problem and holdup here, they’d want their new equipment being marketed in the game.

I don't understand Nike's motivation or reasoning either, but the ball is in their court and their court alone.

SDS has to create and program the equipment models into the game so this is just false.

The can't just copy and paste from the previous year?

That's weird, because they can do that for all the LS cards, the stadiums, the sponsorships, the uniforms, the icons, the banners, the stadium sounds, and the animations.

Why is it only the equipment that has to be designed from scratch every year?

@SaveFarris_PSN I'm talking about new equipment. Each brand releases new cleats and batting gloves and other equipment every year

Warner Brothers releases new movies every year. Do streaming services have to get the rights to show them even if they streamed older WB movies previously?

I think what he's trying (and failing miserably) to say is that since there is already Nike equipment in the game and clearly SDS already has their license (this goes for every other brand as well), why aren't new pieces of equipment being added since they already have Nike and co.'s license? It's most likely a legal issue, but it can also be SDS's laziness which I would not rule out.

@SaveFarris_PSN and you tried to tell me I contracted myself…smh.

First you say the ball is in Nike’s court and their court alone, then you say why can’t SDS not just copy over from previous games (ball not in Nike’s court).

You say why does equipment have to be designed from scratch, I clearly explain I’m talking about new equipment (can’t just be copied over) and you just go right back to permission even though you just said why does equipment have to be remodeled every year.

You’re acting like the only thing that has to happen is Nike give the rights to use their equipment, just not accurate. Someone has to actually design and program the equipment into the game, you’re missing that part in your argument.
