Bug report - Game slows down to a crawl and PS Button no longer functions following quick menu usage
-
First time I've ever seen something like this where the PS console functionality got borked:
- Playing Franchise, started at Spring Training.
- Playing through full game naturally, then in the top of the 8th inning while batting I pressed the Left Button to bring up Quick Substitution menu
- ---> Game immediately slows down to a crawl, but audio seems to be playing in the background. Pressing PS Button brings up Command Center menu, but pressing the PS Button again does not dismiss it, meanwhile MLB The Show 25 video in background is periodically updating.
Continuing to play like this the PS Command Center overlay remains over the game, but attempting to pause the game or bring up a quick menu causes slowdown again. Even trying to bat the game begins to slow down again after a few seconds. Pressing the Power button once on my console does nothing. Eventually after I let it sit for a few minutes my console immediately shut off, and when I turned it back on it said it was rebuilding the database.
I haven't the slightest idea what could have caused this total failure in both game and console functionality.

The team is looking into this one. I've sent this post to them for reference. Thanks!

Hi, it happened again today during a regular season game. I made a substitution (pinch hitter) in the bottom of the 7th following the opposing team's pitching change, I then checked my bullpen to get a pitcher stretching and tossing, and then when I exited the menu my game slowed down to a crawl and pressing the PlayStation Button caused the Command Center to become stuck on-screen, and if I unpaused my game it would stall every few seconds. When I left my game paused to see if it would go away, after a couple minutes my PS5 console completely shut off, no "Something went wrong" crash screen for MLB The Show 25. When I booted my PS5 back up it showed the rebuilding database screen. I have a picture but it doesn't let me attach it.
