They told you there would be a program, a repeatable conquest, and they don't release specific packs for only a couple of hours to only disappear for good.

They've had massive problems this year with monetizing collections (Pipeline Past and Moonshot I'm looking in your directions) , but this Draft stuff isn't a problem.

I bought a pack grabbed Eli that card was worth 75k. Best short stop in the game. I wasnt expecting him to drop down to 50k in a Few hours after I bought it. So yeah I was ripped off. But got a good card at least. U think the way to go is to save all stubs until the next big collection comes out. All the prices crash after a few weeks so what's the point in wasting the stubs

100% … Do not make up problems that do not exists. Play the program and the conquest, no need to buy anything too overprized

I was only excited because I thought they would drop free packs.
If they want to make money off people who are chasing 1/1s or something I'm all for it. I dont think there has ever been a 75k pack worth more than 20k, they are universally trash

They said all this in the pre release streams, things would be kinda expensive to have right away, but everything would be obtainable after a few weeks or a month or so.
Gouged immediately and a lot cheaper for those that could wait.

People who fell for the 75k pack must be playing mlb the show for the first year. It was obvious it was a stub grab and the card would be in a choice pack through conquest and the program. Very glad sds put these packs as repeatable through conquest, great move!

15k for beating 5 teams in Conquest, absolutely amazing. Got up to 35k in stubs after beating the conquest map (had roughly 10k to start) and bought Jojo Parker because why not now lol.

I'll take a small conquest map that gives you a guaranteed 15k stubs each time, especially when one of those teams is the batting practice Rockies.

For the record I didn’t buy any packs and never do, the reason this was far more of a rip off is because normally they do a rare and base round so people buy the packs hoping for the rare buy knowing it’s a long shot. They made these packs appear valuable with the time limit leading people to believe the value would go up. I always buy the players not the packs for this reason during a flash sale because they plummet in price. After the sale is over, I sell them back and make a solid profit. Now we know for tomorrow and Tuesday.

I didn’t buy the packs but I did buy Eli for 69k. I should’ve sold him but it’s all good, his value didn’t drop tremendously. I want to keep him anyway. I have all the collections done and had a decent amount of stubs to spare even though I took an L. Sometimes you’re the bug and sometimes you’re the windshield. lol

Yes they said there would be a program and conquest. But they also created a fabricated sense of urgency with these packs implying they would be more rare than they actually were. It’s bad optics regardless of the fine print.

Let’s be honest , what they’ve done is ensure that flipping these Draft cards is next to impossible.

@capardo_XBL I disagree. The margins are fantastic. I’ve made 100K already flipping them. They screwed up. I wonder how they will price tonight’s HRD cards.

This was the biggest crock of [censored] ever. 75k exclusive pack, limited time only. Followed by a 30k limited time only. THEN you put out a 30k pack with 3 cards in it for a week?

Where is the value? I’m confusing and pissed. I think I spent 400k and I got maybe 200k in value.

Something about this is terribly wrong.

@Ericulous1_XBL congratulations! Glad you were able to take advantage of the opportunity.

I should have been more specific. The window to flip these cards appear to be gone. Just checked margins. In general, they aren’t there. Might have been earlier, but many of the margins are “under water” (I think that is the term)

It’s similar to what’s going on with LS cards. No margins. 😩

I agree that the optics on this are not that great but I wonder if people thought twice before buying packs?

Did you really think that SDS was going to offer 4 of the best cards from the draft for only 4 hours and then pull them from the market completely? Making the Draft Collection impossible for everyone else who did not, or could not buy a pack during that window?

Again, this is not a defense of the practice, as they absolutely preyed on people's fear of missing out (FOMO) or their greed (those who purchased packs thinking that the prices would only go up). They never actually said that these packs were the only way that we were going to be able to get these cards but they also did not say that they would be more readily available 6 hours later. They were purposefully vague.

I don't consider the pack a ripoff move by SDS at all, and I am anything but an SDS apologist. As with everything else in life, there is a price for convenience and the inability to wait for something. I am an old guy, nearly 60 years old, and back in the day we had to learn to wait for things. There was rarely instant gratification. You wanted the news, you had to watch television at 6p and 10p. If something happened after 10p, you found out in the next mornings paper. You wanted some trivial fact of information, you got in the car, or drove your bike to the library to look it up in a reference book, which was probably 5+ years old itself. You didn't carry around a personal computer with you all day, like now with smartphones. The pack was presented on the "Not Live" SDS stream exactly correctly. They said that there would be an all-encompassing pack released later in the night that would have all of the same cards as the first two packs and more, and that the first two would be more expensive, but you would have your choice of cards, and you would get to use them earlier. I have $1.2M stubs and less than a month before Madden 26 launches, so I was perfectly fine with paying $75K for the Cardinals draft pick. It does sting a little to see the card available this morning for $25K, but as I said, $50K in stubs was the price for the fun I had using the card last night. Money well spent for me. Not everything is about "flipping" or "investing", or a "virtual card holding it's value". Just to be clear, it is virtual and since I didn't spend a dime to acquire those stubs, and can't sell the cards for real money, it has no "value" for me.

My opinion (FWIW): SDS is free to do whatever they like with regards to the game. I’m fine with that.

However, I don’t ever recall them doing something like this previously. ( I go back to 2021). Those 75k cards crashed “almost instantly “. In the past, those cards would have held their value longer

Again, that’s fine by me. Just something new ( I think). The card market has been “different “ this year ( in general) so this is something to remember going forward within the game.
