@CarlosLBJ23_PSN should be Yelich Soto or Ketel
I doubt they give it to anyone who has a chance at an all star card. Because they would be screwed if Soto or Marte got the game winning hit and they wanted to make him a card in the all star content but they can't because they just released a Spotlight version of him.
I still have my bets on it being someone who has little to no chance of being on the all star team.
Yandy Diaz would be my choice because he hit .400 for the month but probably not lightning because nobody wants a 1B with no Power
Tyler Freeman was second in Average for the Month and Colorado really could use a card. But probably not lightning worthy
Eugenio Suárez would be a good pick but he already has a 91 Spotlight card
Jo Adell would be another choice. His highest is a 92 Pipeline and he likely won't have a chance at a higher card this year.
It will be interesting to see who they pick, but I am still betting that they won't want to potentially hand cuff themselves with all-star content because they just gave one of them a spotlight card.

Wouldnt this same logic apply to the TA cards though? There will be 30 All Star TAs, good chance one of those is the MVP
I think Marte and Lindor are the obvious choices for monetization: neither will be the team's lone rep (Saurez and Diaz/Soto can get the TA cards), and they are both will liked switch hitters. I could see one as the big collection and the other as the insert or outright chase card.

Better be Max Muncy! The one on the Dodgers.

So everyone can relive Incognito with each at bat!
(I still want this set to return this year for Pete's Polar Bear card. And McNeil's Flying Squirrel)

I mean I personally don't want it to be a Dodger as we will probably have enough of them in the All Star content but why would you need to specify the one on the Dodgers? They would not give him a monthly card for Oakland.

.500 batting average and 1 HR per game
....for the month of July after 1 game -
Wheeler…his month of June was insane! He may get the AS card but there should be another choice in the Phillies that could get an AS card
-
Only one Max Muncy is worthy of this card.
-
@Bicarbonate_Fury_MLBTS Please no. 2 lightning pitchers in a row would be awful.
-
@theBlindRhino_NSW I hope not. I really don’t want a hitter who will probably have under 100 contact on both sides.
-
@MRAD2010_XBL Sorry. I don't make the decisions so you'll just have to accept Max the way he is.
-
@theBlindRhino_NSW lol fair enough. I like Max’s swing but I just wanted a card that will stay relevant through the year. Has it been pretty much confirmed he’s getting it? I haven’t seen anything yet.
-
@Dolenz_PSN
Yelich was red hot in June. 1.000 OPS, couple of walk offs.
He's going to get snubbed in the All Star Game.
The other lightning candidates will get ASG Cards. -
@PrestoFoxx_PSN Now Yelich is another card I’d love to see as POTM. Probably the best swing in the game. I really hope it’s Mete or him.
-
@MRAD2010_XBL No. I just made it up because I recall him hitting a lot of homers lately. I only watch Dodger games because they have all the most talented players and I like their uniforms.

The other lightning candidates will get ASG Cards..936 OPS in June. They could justify it somehow and players would like him, but he isnt really deserving of lightning
As far as being snubbed, hes basically Brandon Nimmo with more RBIs but an enormous downgrade defensively. And nobody is calling for Nimmo (who knows a thing or two about snubs) to be an all star this year.
-
Speaking of snubs. Why isn't Michael Conforto getting more love?
-
@theBlindRhino_NSW lol he did have a great month. I agree the Dodgers do have great colors and uniforms. I’m from the east coast but I still wear my Hideo Nomo Dodgers jersey and dodgers hat occasionally. Actually I wear the hat a decent amount. The jersey here and there.

I know this is in jest, but I really hope they give him a good Mets card this year. His 2020 season was 99 worthy. Maybe a 2017 retro all star?

The other lightning candidates will get ASG Cards. As mentioned it was .936 in June. There were 20 players with higher OPS numbers.
He was 10th in BA (which may be his best claim)
He was 55th in WAR
He was 20th in wRC+
He was 52nd in HRs
He was 13th in RBIsI'd personally have no problem if it was him but let's not act like it is a no-brainer slam dunk. He always gets a good 99 card every year and I assume this year will be no different. We are getting high enough in overalls that they may choose not to give a 97 card to someone they plan to give a 99 card to later. That used to be a common thing, not giving guys cards when they knew a better version was still possible.
I would also not say that he was snubbed for the All Star Game. It is hard to say the Ohtani was not deserving.
