you see PCA tonight - lost the game for the cubs singlehandedly.
caught a ball thinking it was the 3rd out when it was the 2nd and the cardinals guy scored all the way from 2nd base tagging up.
Then PCA decides to lay down a stupid bunt with guys on the corners with 1 out.
guess what - they lose by 1, the run that PCA gifted the Cards

I appreciated that lapse.
That was a heck of a play by Arenado to end the game. High slow bouncer where he had to avoid the baserunner grab it barehanded and fire a missile to first. Helsley is just not as lights out as he used to be.
Also, nice catch by Burleson falling into the netting earlier in the game.
NL Central is the most competitive division in MLB with The Cardinals and Brewers only 2.5 games behind the Cubs and the Reds only 4.5

O'Neil Cruz also got benched last night for failing to run out a double play, I'd be surprised if he plays today considering he's been so lackadaisical lately

I think it's time for PCA to get a day or 2 off. He also completely whiffed on a fly ball against the Mariners over the weekend. Granted it was very windy, but he seemed to show no urgency and still tried to catch the ball nonchalantly like he always does and just completely missed it.

@BiigD008_XBL They won because the next batter got a hit. Had that batter struck out, grounded out, ect then it would have gone another inning & who knows what would happen. And if that happened you’d just sit there in silence. 🤫

You can always play "What if" but there is no denying that Pete's lapse was directly responsible for the winning run.
The next batter, Wilson Contreras, struck out so Winn would have been stranded at third if Pete had not had his lapse.
At that point though anything could have happened and either team still could have won.
