because we do not have a „trade x golds for a gold“ too … We always had it like this, because it made sense

The better question is: why did they show a diamond exchange pack in pre release streams when they don’t exist in the game?

They should do the exchange but make the number of exchanges so astronomical that it would be cheaper to just buy Ohtani. Like you would need to exchange 350 Diamond 85's to get your choice of a gatekeeper. Given how bad most Americans are at math and simple comprehension this could be a windfall for SDS.

They did show a Diamond Exchange option in the reveal video...I very distinctly remember this and remember sending a screenshot to my buddy
