Excellent video. It does capture most all of the common desires the designer community has communicated.

Excellent video, does an excellent job of showing what we’re after. Prior and I have suggested numerous times that they take the “trim” code that’s used on the ground and apply it to the wall as well

Need sn update on potential patch

This below I just sent to SDS in the form of a suggestion ticket:
"Suggestion for Stadium Creator ...
First off, I'm not some teenager locked up in his parent's basement with nothing better to do than write this. Instead, I'm a 61 year old Air Force retiree who is also retired from his post-military civilian employment. In short, I own my home and I'm typing this from my office.
I've also owned and operated an aviation company and so know a thing or two about customer service and balancing the books and meeting payroll. So, let's get honest here.
Four years ago you released Stadium Creator and it was widely praised, rightfully so. But, since then you have largely ignored it. Yes, you added the night lighting option and last year the standing fans, and in the course of time various additional props of different appeal levels.
But, what you have not done is listen to your customers who are actually spending the time designing custom stadiums. And that choice to ignore customers is what I fail to understand.
We want the ability to create realistic stadiums that not only replicate modern ballparks, but can also reach back into history to the 1970's, 1950's, 1920's, and even the original days of baseball where games were played in municipal fairgrounds, polo grounds, and public parks.
To provide that we need a relative few but profound changes to how SC functions, and it's long overdue given the detailed feedback hundreds of good customers have provided to you.
-
Give us the ability to modify the baseline walls in the exact same manner that we can currently modify the outfield walls.
-
Get the bullpens off the baselines, or at the very least, finally give us the ability to place bullpens by making them a prop that can be placed on the field of play or outside it.
-
Make the batters eye props workable in terms of placing standing fans on their concourse decks, and allow us to nudge the stand and concourse props tightly against the edges of them.
-
Allow for home plate distance marks to be added to the wall props so that we can select a wall panel and designate it to show the distance tally to that panel. Also, give us the option to add the standard yellow lines to the top of the outfield walls and extended down from the foul poles.
-
Adopt what are best described as building block props for a straight and curved stand prop that is small, no more than six rows across at the front and six rows deep, but that can snap and group with other stand props to build up stand sections as the customer desires. The curved stand prop should be no more than six seats at front row and eight or nine at rear row, six rows deep.
-
To those two building block props add a simple concrete walkway prop that matches the stair stepped concrete base of the aforementioned stand props, and with that add a simple railing prop that matches the incline and also snaps and groups so that these can be added as needed to finish off a grouped section of seats.
-
Create a new type of prop named "team branding" where the home team's cap logo, team logo, and team nickname can be added to props that can be placed on the backstop, baseline, outfield walls plus on the grass in chosen parts of the park's field of play.
-
Increase the variation and number of concourse props. Create a straight and inclined concourse prop type that is thin and can be used to create realistic entryways integrated with the stands. Add additional texture options for the kinds of stonework used in today's and yesterday's ballparks. Add those additional texture types to the other concourse prop types.
-
Change the current code to allow a roof style prop to be placed over the field of play provided it is above a set height to avoid interference with play. Obviously, this to allow design of retractable roof and domed stadiums.
-
Add numbers to all the existing letter props and design new ones that are smaller to allow more realistic naming within stadiums.
-
Add to the wall prop options a set of advertisements that can be placed on the backstop, baseline, and outfield walls.
You do these simple things, and we your customers will create custom stadiums that will greatly increase the appeal of your game, sell more units, and allow customers to create their own private leagues playing in stadiums from all sorts of historic and current eras, including their own custom teams.
It's time. Listen to your customers and do this!"
Chef's kiss.
Copied & pasted this and sent it directly to submit feedback & bug report forms.
Doubt it will help considering their history. But, getting more eyes on it won't hurt.

Hey folks,
Greatly appreciate this thread as well as the feedback it contains. Keeping this conversation in one place definitely makes things easier.
While we don't currently have any updates or timelines that I can share, I can tell you that the team is taking a good look at Stadium Creator. We'll share any updates that we can as they become available.
As always, we appreciate everyone's patience and support.
I take this to mean in the old baseball saying, "wait til next year."

I did advise SDS that if they wait until next year there may well be so little interest in SC remaining that it would be best for them to just eliminate Stadium Creator and Custom Uniforms altogether and accept their medicine. In my view, there is nothing worse than putting out to the customer a half baked product. Quality standards are more important than quantity standards. Having seven game features that are all well done and make customers happy is far superior to releasing a dozen game standards with three or four of them being substandard.
Will SDS finally listen to this? I don't know, but I certainly hope they do. I'm playing MLB 25 for RTTS but nothing else. I used to play RTTS and design stadiums. For me, that second part is pretty much dead unless SC is made to work the way designers have been wanting for four years now.

I also want the ability to customize existing stadiums. If I want to add "5" to Citifield when David Wright's number is retired, in Mets team font, I want to be able to do it.

As cool as this would be they can’t do it. They legally can’t due to licensing issues.

Yes, and yet also no. Some type fonts are copyrighted and of course those could not be put in the SC by SDS. However, to violate the copyright they have to be legitimate copies and so instead SDS could just release expanded letters (all including numbers for crying out loud) and of all the colors normally used. Then, stadium designers could do the work.
What could never be allowed is for SDS to release team branding that is copyrighted. But, again, folks can create their own branding using the logo editor.

Y'all are talking about wishlists. How about fixing the broken stuff?
Like the fact that the 3rd base dugout is closer to home plate than the 1st base dugout so the stands never match up?
All the stands that don't snap properly or have different shapes/heights on different sides of the field?

I think we should expect SDS to walk and chew bubble gum at the same time! This is a multi-million dollar company, so I think their coders removed their training wheels a long time ago.
Yes, absolutely, SDS needs to fix the bugs keeping the MLB 24 and MLB 23 era stadiums from downloading from the vault. That is clear and no one can debate that. In fact, it's so obvious that the ticket reports we have submitted should be all the feedback that SDS truly needs.
So, if fixing those bugs is all that SDS chooses to do this year, then there is going to be a rather mighty level of anger that isn't going away.
Now, all that said. How about the ultimate fix to the infield walls not meshing up with the stands? That ultimate solution is being able to manually move the wall panels for all of the backstop and baselilne walls, which would allow moving the dugouts in a rotation as well as parallel closer to the foul lines? That would solve that issue once and for all would it not?
You see, I like putting the power in the hands of the customers.

Nonsense! Didn't you know they're just a small dev two man dev team? /s

That's probably the only thing that would eliminate the walls not fitting the stands.
The other crucial thing is the deadzones created by using even the pre-made fence templates. Sure you can make them like that...but the space is unusable as the game itself thinks the original base walls are still there

@SDS_JoeK_PSN Is there any update to MLBTS 24 and MLB 23TS stadiums not being able accessible via the Vault in MLBTS25? It has been a month and a half now (And I think this group has been VERY patient) since game release, and while this thread is appreciated, would be great to acknowledge the issue and perhaps give us some insight into if it is something that will every be fixed? Thank you.
-
I noted the sarcasm, and got a chuckle from it.
And yes, the dead zone overmodeled "no go" areas with the wall needs to also be fixed. The crux of the problem is that SDS tried to develop rules to prevent online cheating, and these rules ended up creating far worse problems than they solved. People bent upon cheating always find ways to cheat.
This is the core reason why I think SDS should remove all the restrictions, simplify the code accordingly, and then make all wall edits a no-go for the stadium being approved for online play, which is already the case with the outfield walls.
Allow these edited custom stadiums to play in RTTS, Franchise, Exhibition, and League play. That would be the proper balance, given that private leagues should be able to police themselves. Sadly, there are already complaints from some about people playing the freeze off "game" within private league play, which only goes to prove so many people lack integrity. But, at least the person who controls the private league can kick the cheater out.
All the more reason to allow for full edit control of the basic stadium layout in return for zero DD play option.

Yup. I've never understood that. It's like the medication that has side effects worse that the malady it's treating. The best thing that ever happened was the batter's eye glitch that allowed us to put one anywhere (which we really should, being honest)...but because two or three idiots went and built stadiums with that stuff on the field...they nixed it.

100%

I'd like a caveat to this what walls should be able to move higher or lower and still remain online eligible

I'd also like the edited wall-parks to be eligible for play vs the CPU, because, in the strictest sense, that's "offline" play

Doesn't SDS already have MLB licences?

It's crazy that the stadium vault still pretty much has no functionality at all even a solid month or-so after release. Going to the most popular stadiums results in them all being glitched into having insane populations and elevations, and usually turning into template stadiums if you're even able to download it in the first place. Wild that it was allowed to release in this state and still hasn't been fixed.
