A ton of YouTuber’s channels in MLB started by showing how to flip cards. There’s a reason those guys don’t make those videos or talk about it anymore, the margins and tiny and there’s no risk free flips like there use to be.
they do that every year (at least over the last 5). But this thread is not about how to flip

Little additional update here:
My strategy paid off big time. I sold everything I had … until friday. Then the market took a hit. That was my time to buy all the NL live series cards I did not have. I got all except Soto with prox 720K stubs.
With the Weekend-league packs, I made prox 60-70K so I could afford the last piece with Soto. Now on to the AL (Blue Jays already done) :).
This is fun, more fun than 2024
-
Little update:
- NL Live series done
- AL West done
- I am sitting at 70K stubs and just missing the 3 AL boys Judge, J-Ram, Witt ( I could afford every other LS card)
- Still not a single flip done
- Got every program collection except the New Threads and Egg-Program
- Well prepared for the big collection (maybe I sell some cards I have not logged in)
Today I pulled Trout and I was really happy. That has not been the case in the last 3 years because I could afford every card I wanted.
I repeat mysef: This is a lot of fun !!!
If I go on like this, I will have Beltran in the „3rd inning“ -
@MarioMendoza935_XBL The flash sale was my biggest test so far. Man, that was hard … I had my finger on the 90K-Buy-Now on Randy and some 50K on Polanco … to make stubs off of them … I did not pull the trigger because I want to stay on course (in this thread) … I got J-Ram for a little discount and bought a lot of cards from the egg-program for some cheap stubs.
Now I am only missing Judge and Witt -

Was there a flash sale today? I am literally in the ER right now (partially ruptured Achilles). I'm also on morphine so I'm a little loopy. Nice job on the LS progress. I'm behind you. I'll take a look once I get home. I'm very happy NOT flipping this year.
-
@MarioMendoza935_XBL Yes, there was one … Chase Pack 5 and 85-Lives-Series (that was it). In addition they gave out the community challenge packs which had egg packs in it … Therefore Randy and Polanco went down that much (Polanco is still at 64K)

One big guy to go and I finish the live series collection.
What did I do since my last update:
- I still sticked to my strategy, so no flips (man, there are that many opportunities (another flash sale where I could have made tons of stubs :))
- When Rolen came out, I knew I had no chance getting him, since my focus was on the live series collection (which is still the better route imo). So I sold a lot of cards that I could buy later (sold all of my egg cards)
- Together with the new conquest and new mini season, I made tons of xp and I am sitting on 100 packs … which gave me the last inning-pack (sold Gibson right on the spot)
- That in total gave me 240K stubs so I bought back Judge which gave me a big bullpen piece with Darren O‘Day
- So, Bobby Witt is the last one standing. Maybe I get lucky with the above mentioned packs. Anyway I am pretty sure, that I will get him after the next weekend-classics (at the latest)

You're way ahead of me. I'm plowing through the online program to try and get another 50 pack. Didn't pull anything from inning 1.
I'm sitting on about 800k stubs, waiting for any kind of price drop. I assume that won't happen until July at the earliest. I'm not close to Rolen either, but that's ok.
Still standing by my choice for a "no-flip" season. I'm enjoying using the players I have.

I never flip, just not something I’m interested in nor have the time to do
I’ve completed all content (conquest maps, mini seasons, programs etc), and need Judge to finish the AL
I’ve had decent pack luck but I don’t have any of the big NL names (Ohtani, Soto, Ketel) so still quite a ways away
I’m more interested in getting Clemens asap and then finishing the NL and getting Beltran when prices eventually drop

@MarioMendoza935_XBL Which big boys are you missing?

What a weekend, I have been struggling to get/flip stubs this year so far amd my pulls have not been great..... until this weekend that is, since Friday I have pulled Glasnow, Gilbert, Judge, and now Trout X2, I am over 100k for the first time and actually feeling like I could get the LS collection done by June.
Now missing
AL
Jose Ramirez
Bobby Witt JrNL
Juan Soto
Fransico Lindor
Bryce Harper
Zach Wheeler
Ketel Marte
Mookie Betts
Freddie Freeman
Shohei Ohtani (that one will be difficult) -
@MarioMendoza935_XBL Uh, that is a lot. My advice would be: Keep the stubs until the second inning ends. That will not help on Ohtani and Judge (the latter being upgraded for sure imo). But you should get all the other ones. You could focus on one league, that could be done too …

So my question is, keep Judge or wait for him to be upgraded and find out how much he goes for?

@samguenther1987_PSN I would not sell him. He will definitely not go under the 90, so he will be as rare as Shohei. That means his price will rise … at least in the upcoming 6-8 weeks, until more people have live series done. Fore reference: I sold him for 249K a few weeks ago … and I rebought him for 236K. So I took a prox 11K loss (but I bought Ohtani with those stubs for 405K)

Ok perfect, thank you that's the answer I was looking for.

Little update: Today I ripped all of my packs. I pulled Dansby twice from the egg packs … I pulled 8 diamonds from the „normal“/Twitch-packs … unfortunately it was 1x Gunnar, 2x Altuves, 1x Acuna, 1x Merrill, 1x Snell, 1x Semien, 1x Gilbert … I will not complain because all those cards netted me 120K, so I am only prox 60K away from finishing live series.
The fun part: I could easily have it done tomorrow, but I will use the cards that I have. So instead of having Beltran patrolling CF it will be egg-PCA -
First milestone completed … thanks to drop 3 I managed to get the last stubs necessary to complete live series collection.
Remember: I did not flip a single card and I did not buy anystubs
What helped the most: People do nit know how much value TA gives. Yes, I did some Diamond Quests (maybe 12-15 runs), but I pulled a lot through many hundred of packs I earned on my way. I also cleaned up my binder very thoroughly
Now I will focus on getting my team better (I do not know how :)), getting Rolen and doing better in the next weekend classics
-
Congrats! I really need to go through and sell my dupes. Probably so many stubs to be had. The only reason I am hesitant is because I do like to do TA exchanges when new TAs drop later in the year to knock those out quicker.
-
@Pergo_MLBTS Thanks … it even got better. Roger Clemens did a heck of a job winning his game. Next was Nando with a QS … next game was my ws game … my opponent dashboarded in the loading screen. That means: My ..experience brought me to world series, first time ever (I am a little bit proud
).
Next update, when something siginficant happens
