@SakAttack87_PSN yeah, I’d rather have a Moises Alou, Andy Van Slyke, Darren Daulton or Bobby Bonilla than Rollens. Not saying he doesn’t belong in the HoF if you compare him to others, but never when I saw him play has anything screamed “HoFamer”. Bland and efficient; good in real life, death in video games.

The only flavor more vanilla than vanilla is Scott Rolen.
Feel like I'm launching a hate campaign, but he's just a name that I don't think moves the needle.
Meanwhile, you got people with their credit cards on standby if they announce Ichiro. Small sample size of course, but I've got two friends who've been playing The Show for years that decided to skip this year. They both admitted if Ichiro gets dropped they're 100% back.
I used to think someone like Ichiro would only be included before release to help drive presales. However, we are only a month removed from launch and he would absolutely sway some holdouts to pull the trigger and get the game. Also, his skill set (max contact/defense/speed with low power) is perfect for the early part of the game cycle as he will be viable in the outfield for a long time before the 125 power goons creep in.
Man, I think I'm setting myself up to be disappointed.

I know the history of Kirby Puckett developing glaucoma after being hit by a baseball, resorting to drugs, and having affairs after he was forced to retire from baseball. In addition, I learned about this from "Baseball Tonight" on ESPN in the 1990's; not from Google. Still Puckett is a Hall-of-Famer, whether people agree about it or not? There are plenty of Hall-of-Famers in this game that had more serious problems than him, and yet they're in the game, and he is not.

I’m not putting a moral judgement on it or giving substance to the rumours, just saying that with legends, SDS is staying away from potentially controversial figures off the field.
That’s why I said “problematic” and wasn’t specific; I don’t know which standards they use and don’t want to launch a debate.

I'm not fired up about Rolen, but thats who I expected all along. Ichiro is a massive name, it would have been surprising if they released him after launch. I'm like 99% sure Rolen will be the collection reward, but it is kind of interesting that they haven't come right out and said that. Would be kind of funny if he ends up being the mini-seasons card and the collection is someone else. Kind of hoping for that actually.

Rolen is the new Legend reveal, but the big collection is 99 Bernie Williams.

Yeah that is odd as well. But I would guess there will be a higher rated Phillies version later in the year.

Hell probably get a Phillies and Cardinals card later on. At least I hope so. I would say a Phillies card is a sure thing based on the reveal. I hope for a Cardinals card because his best offensive single season was as a Cardinal
