@dbub_PSN yeah, started the Storylines slow grind yesterday; will do maybe a player per day just in case the “big collection” requires them.
When are we expecting the first Big? May? June?
Current Legend or a reveal?
1st collection was teased for April 25th, no details of any kind given.

Guys, there are always cards that require actions in specific modes. Want CC Sabathia? Go ahead and play mini seasons. Want the golden cards? Go be awesome
… DD should always have cards you have to grind for and not be able to buy everything
Yes but I don't have to do mini seasons but once for sabathia.

You get mission progress and now PXP( but not stats)in the DQ showdowns.
Didn't get anything in the NL showdown, don't know if you're supposed to or not( can't remember if it did in the spring breakout or starter ones)Yeah, wasn’t sure if it was DQ specific or at large, thanks for clarifying
Just realized it. You get the mission progress and PXP in the DQ showdowns because you are using your own team, and do not in the others because of the draft.

@Zooropa_Returns_PSN and you have to play 20+ 3 inning games and it takes around 8-9 hours. Showdown takes minutes to an hour. Depending on how long they are.
-
@Zooropa_Returns_PSN And Mini seasons take hours of your life … and there are people who do not like that mode too (you get the point
) and there are „forced to do that“ to get the card
-
People who who think these Showdowns are tough would've melted at the cruelty of the mode back in 2020. Each division had one in exchange for a TA voucher and those were frustrating to say the least. They definitely have scaled back the difficulty over the last few years although some bosses still offer a challenge which is to be expected.
Cards have been locked behind specific modes for a long time which I don't see a problem with as long as it is balanced. As a primary offline player, I can't get mad when certain cards are exclusive to online because that is my choice. The grind time completing Mini Seasons for CC Sabathia was way more of a commitment than knocking out the Jackie Showdown twice. Sometimes these things work in your favor and other times they don't. You just can't expect everything in this game to always be tailored to how you play.

I don't mind the showdowns but having to do them 4 times just to complete a collection is wrong, while they might not be hard for some people to do they're hard for other people. I've heard multiple content creators complaining as well at the fact that they had to do the one 4 times just to get all the cards
-
@PAinPA_PSN stop making sense, I’m about to block you
-
@sbchamps17_NSW That's cause having to Replay Showdowns is harder for them to make content from...
-
Can they bring classic showdown mission-mission-mini boss-mission-mission-mini boss-mission-mission-Boss
-
I’ll take Showdowns over Diamond Quest. At least I’m guaranteed the reward for completing Showdown.

Finally tried the JRD Showdown.
Failed the first time at Donaldson, but beat him the 2nd.
Man. I see why online players do NOT want to see him. My goodness. I prepared to face him by doing custom BP on G.O.A.T vs. him. This was harder, lol.
Only need a 2nd win now, but boy was this hell! -
@yankblan_PSN Thats only in DQ, which is almost more frustrating because we now know they have the capability to count them and aren't.
That being said the showdown hate is insane. Is it super entertaining gameplay no. But for the most part it's very easy.
-
@trfatboy22_PSN maybe they don’t add it because it would get abused? Maybe it’s so popular that they will?
It’s not perfect but they adjust. If you played the Kopech Showdown on 20, you don’t hate them as much for sure. It’s also a lot less miserable now that it’s always mini-bosses and not 2-3 missions then a mini-boss until the final one.

Only need a 2nd win now, but boy was this hell!If there's a pitcher in a showdown that you know is gonna give you trouble, then one thing you can do is draft RHB/LHB heavy. In this case, if you're struggling against JD (LHP), you'd draft a ton of RHBs so when you get to the finale you'll have all RHBs (and maybe Ohtani) and a bunch of exit velocity perks to face him.

What I also do is face said pitcher in custom BP on high levels. I have a whole saved roster called 'BP pitchers.' It does help!

I don’t get the beef with showdowns, they literally give you good cards to take off the new cards. It helps to figure out the new cards that are out. Showdown is literally just home run derby off the new pitcher that came out.

I hardly ever lose a showdown. They are pretty simple to beat. I usually just do them for the points in a program or xp. The rewards arn't really what i'm after.
