Showdowns

The others were easy, but needing that many runs against Satchel was just plain evil.
Did it but dam.
Mays ,Jackie and Dixon don't seem to care how fast the pitches are, they could probably smash it if it was 110.
Cool thing happened in the final, Mays smashed a liner over 2nd that went all the way to the wall, could have had 3 but didn't want to risk outs, went 8 straight outs and then Trout put one off the score board for an RBI double, forget how he scored but Mays hit it like he did the first time except they cut it off and it was only a single,Dixon lined one between 1st and 2nd for a single to put Mays on 2nd as the winning run, Jackie at the plate took a couple ,then he painted and I also fouled off a couple,a wild pitch put runners on 2nd and 3rd and Jackie hit a deep fly to left for a walk off sac fly.
So awesome that Mays and Jackie were the heroes of it -
As expected I failed it and don’t want to try again thanks SDS

@pbake12_PSN
Agree. Let them know about that in the survey. SDS making Showdown mandatory in order to get specific cards is not cool. -
Parts of the showdown were fun,but I am in no hurry to face Satchel or Donaldson again anytime soon.shame cause that's 2 cards still there.

Those are the two I failed and now I lack interest in it

@nymets1987_PSN
I successfully completed this Showdown twice in three attempts and I only had to face Satchel twice. They rotate different Pitchers. Paige was the one that knocked me out the second time, but I beat him the first go around. Thankfully, the third attempt of this Showdown I did not have to face him. Glad it is over, it was not fun. -
There is an easy, fool-proof method at beating these: STOP MAKING CARDS LOCKED TO THIS MODE AND FORCING US TO PLAY THEM.
-
I did the showdown fine the 1st time but tried to do it again to get the other 2 cards and failed 2 in a row and gave up.

You get mission progress and now PXP( but not stats)in the DQ showdowns.
Didn't get anything in the NL showdown, don't know if you're supposed to or not( can't remember if it did in the spring breakout or starter ones)Yeah, wasn’t sure if it was DQ specific or at large, thanks for clarifying
-
Guys, there are always cards that require actions in specific modes. Want CC Sabathia? Go ahead and play mini seasons. Want the golden cards? Go be awesome
… DD should always have cards you have to grind for and not be able to buy everything
-
Are there only 4 NL cards you can get from the Showdowns? So you need to complete the Showdown twice?
Anyway, I used to despise Showdown, but I do feel like they're getting easier. Beat this one twice, and easily both times.
I don't like Storylines Moments because they involve things I don't usually use at any other time. The hook slides, outfield assists etc.

This 100 percent. Hence why they’re called “rewards”

@dbub_PSN yeah, started the Storylines slow grind yesterday; will do maybe a player per day just in case the “big collection” requires them.
When are we expecting the first Big? May? June?
Current Legend or a reveal?
1st collection was teased for April 25th, no details of any kind given.

Yes but I don't have to do mini seasons but once for sabathia.

Just realized it. You get the mission progress and PXP in the DQ showdowns because you are using your own team, and do not in the others because of the draft.

@Zooropa_Returns_PSN and you have to play 20+ 3 inning games and it takes around 8-9 hours. Showdown takes minutes to an hour. Depending on how long they are.
-
@Zooropa_Returns_PSN And Mini seasons take hours of your life … and there are people who do not like that mode too (you get the point
) and there are „forced to do that“ to get the card
-
People who who think these Showdowns are tough would've melted at the cruelty of the mode back in 2020. Each division had one in exchange for a TA voucher and those were frustrating to say the least. They definitely have scaled back the difficulty over the last few years although some bosses still offer a challenge which is to be expected.
Cards have been locked behind specific modes for a long time which I don't see a problem with as long as it is balanced. As a primary offline player, I can't get mad when certain cards are exclusive to online because that is my choice. The grind time completing Mini Seasons for CC Sabathia was way more of a commitment than knocking out the Jackie Showdown twice. Sometimes these things work in your favor and other times they don't. You just can't expect everything in this game to always be tailored to how you play.

I don't mind the showdowns but having to do them 4 times just to complete a collection is wrong, while they might not be hard for some people to do they're hard for other people. I've heard multiple content creators complaining as well at the fact that they had to do the one 4 times just to get all the cards
