I'm fading fast this year....

Just sounds like you don’t like baseball that much. Maybe try basketball, football, hockey or golf
All of the other sports games are horrendous to play through. I mean this without exaggeration; this is the only decent sports game left. Even though it has taken its share of steps back in multiple areas, it's still the best, which unfortunately doesn't mean much in 2025.
-
@Jacob151167_XBL this is very true. Ive always been more of a "casual" baseball fan, especially compared to football. But madden has become such a broken joke it drove me to the show (which ironically in recent years kinda reignited my interest in baseball irl again) but unfortunately, like you said, while it IS still the "best" of the sports games, thats not saying much compared to its competitors and it too has gotten noticeably worse in recent years itself.

@xElRojo44x_MLBTS Because money
They are super cheap

Wait, so the complaint is that you actually have to move the PCI to hit home runs, resulting in the game being LESS fun?
Here I am thinking actually playing the game was MORE fun...
-
I do feel like on Rookie, the CPU needs to throw more pitches in the strike zone and tone down the superhuman defense. So tired of barely making it to second base on balls hit to the wall in the gap or having an 80+ runner barely make it home on a sac fly to the warning track. The reaction times of CPU defenders should be the same as human defenders, considering the players are supposed to have the same attributes. The CPU grabs every ball with a bare hand and throws immediately. Slow it down. So annoying this year, even worse than years past. Making a game on lower levels tedious does not make me want to continue to play the game.
-
@MetalDoc17_XBL agreed on all counts
-
@MetalDoc17_XBL the superhuman defence gets me everytime lol. I always have to check the player card in the stats after and it’s usually a bronze player with 65 fielding who just laid out and robbed a double in the gap or snatched a 105mph grounder down the line at 3rd and underhands a laser across the diamond to 1st. Meanwhile my diamond players are letting 60mph grounders past them because they stood still for a whole second before attempting to run through quick sand.
-
Yeah there is something I put my finer on that has me fading out, I think that DD is so much better this year but I'm already looking to play something else

Yep, I remember when you could just hang 30 runs on the Yetis with ease and grinding was much easier. It is frustrating, that even on Rookie, the CPU will throw 3 balls way out of the SZ then dot the black with the other pitches. If you are patient the CPU will eventually make mistakes, but you have to keep your focus but who wants to do that when you are just trying to level up? However, I do get that they're just trying to protect the power creep.BTW: Why did your Cards not keep Edman? I did not follow him in St. Louis but Tommy Tanks has been money in LA. My Dodgers may not have won the WS last year without him.
O and when you get a good pitch and hit it for a perfect perfect, for instance I'm playing in Polo Grounds and trying to get doubles/triples but a CPU fielder like Bader (65 speed) or Alvarez (35 speed) will come out of left field to center field and make the catch easily. 105 mph and the CPU doesn't even break a sweat catching it. I might be close to done as well.

I kid you not, I had a perfect game with J.R. Richard's, 1 out to go, ball hit right at 1st base should be a easy final out.... ball gets past my fielder because he got a late break to the ball even though I acted as fast as I could. Mewhile like I stated in my above post the CPU has Alvarez running from out of left field to center in Polo Grounds to make a catch.... Alvarez.

Yeah I'm not seeing a whole lot of xp gain in this season....the base missions from the initial release is what gotten me so far in the 2nd inning program. Just not seeing the 20-30 k xp in the program like spring break and the others. Playing a full game betting you 2k isn't a whole lot of progress. It's still early but last inning I was close to 200k after three days... half that right now. I'm hoping jr and Easter have better gains
-
losing a stadium game in conquest on rookie right after beating zone sweeper, despite having solid swings, left a horrible taste. And then the lack of offline content with inning 2 made me realize that this game will never be as content rich as 2023 again and I think Ive moved on.
-
I think the inconsistency with PCI and where the ball lands has me fading. I can be a touch under and have a 42 LA with Beltran for a fly out, but then the pci will be well off and somehow hit it over the infield for a solid 84 mph off the bat. They need to have a sensitivity slider for PCI movement. The PCI moves quicker and way more outside the box on higher levels.
-
"Lack of content".
-
The hitting on rookie doesn't bother me, but it's the diving plays on the ground, diving catches and homerun robs. They make them all! haha
-
Take a year off. I did with 23 and came back with a better mindset in 24 and raking in 25. A good TV or monitor helps for the performance. The break helps with the boredom in yearly release games.
-
I stopped playing on rookie because I got tired of the additional time every at bat took. If you’re disciplined , and have a mediocre skill set AllStar at coors or a created park is the way to grind imo.

So as I said, I am fading fast.
I'm in the same boat. After a good start to the year, I'm struggling with hitting. Nothing "feels" right. I can't get comfortable with my thumb position on the stick, and I'm trying too many things.
I've had a bunch of 1-0 games on All-Star in CQ. However, there was this anomaly... After this game I thought "that's it. I've figured it out". And then... Back to normal.

9 perfects. 16 runs in the first inning. I was out of my mind.
-
I'm really struggling to even play this game lately. CPU defense is stacked with diamond +++ players, the pitching is absurd on both sides of the plate. Hard to locate where you pitched it, and good luck not getting dotted up. When you do hit it, it's foul or a complete whiff. I swapped to directional thinking zone was an issue, but wow directional just cannot be working as intended. Even my position players are crazy slow throwing to the bag. I think my perfect/perfects are about 40% chance of a hit. I think its time for them to rework on rookie/veteran modes. They really haven't worked for a couple of years now. Those modes we are already getting less XP and PXP, so why not open it up. You have ratched up the difficulty so much this year that it is no longer a "game" to have fun in, it's a frustrating experience where the fun has been drained away year to year.
