I wonder if they are talking outside the sets and seasons world. SDS seems happy to forget that experiment
No they just hype everything. It makes some of the streams tough to watch...look we know a mediocre card when we see one, hyping it up is just painful to watch.
An 89 Ozzie should be fine, just go all in on no power and give him good defense, contact, and 90+/90+ stealing and I would certainly use him a lot
-
I have to check to see if I still need cards steals, he'd be a better option than winn(who can hit but has borderline speed)or that other guy who has great speed but no hitting skills.

For my cardinals theme team I simply kept Victor Scott II on my bench and pinch run him anytime someone gets a single. Then just sub in Brendan Donovan the next inning because he can play everywhere
-
@Easy_Duhz_It__PSN I'm 100% ok with that, if he has super high speed, fielding and contact/power like that gold Clemente hes going to be great
-
A couple of the April Spotlight Cards
-
April Spotlight Pack - Here is hoping they don't fall into the habit of always putting Cardinal players in the packs like they did for the first few seasons last year.
-
@PAinPA_PSN you just use them as pinch runners. no need for hitting stats.
-
@Dolenz_PSN There are 3 A's and 2 rays and you're worried about the one cardinal we have had? SMH.
Not to mention dude hits 3 absolute Tanks in a game he def deserves a Topps Now card.
-
I'm not worried. I'm going to get him. I was just kind of mentioning that last year for the first and second season almost every Cardinal they released were in the packs (or they were collection rewards). If they do that again then that is fine. It's their call.
It was more of an observation than anything else.
But I will say that when cards I want are in packs then it does not give me a much of incentive to play the programs, so maybe that is actually a plus.

Chase pack #5
Pretty good card for Astros fans considering that he only pitched 11 of his 618 games for them.

This was before they cheated though.

@Dolenz_PSN Ah gotcha makes sense. I feel that. I thought that was a "holy [censored] too many cardinals post" when we've gotten the entire multi generational history of the Boston Red sox already LMAO.
I def agree though that its harder to be excited about cards that are chase packs or headliners. As long as they don't make my favorite guys BR or WS rewards though I'm set lol.

In a 3 inning game,yes.
But I've been doing 9 inning games with tier 3 jolt captains to finish the QI and OTR missions, don't like pinch running in 9 innings especially early. -
@Dolenz_PSN
Looks like your Cardinals are being represented well this year. I am still waiting for Vince Coleman, Willie McGee, and Jack Clark! -

@Teak2112_MLBTS
Bummer about Vince... Pendleton should get a nice 80's Cardinals card too. That team was fun to watch. I do not remember, but Clark may have been in the game prior. -
The downgrade in number of Topps Now cards over the last two years is disgraceful. Every single Topps now card of a guy who doesnt have a similar diamond already should be in the game with absolutely zero exceptions.
-
A quick look at guys during the period who are screwed out of Topps Now cards (actually had cards):
Hunter greene
Zac Gallen
Pete Alonso
JC EscaraAnd Im sure there are more.
In 2023 these would have had cards...

I am still waiting for Vince Coleman, Willie McGee, and Jack Clark!Yeah, I can't complain, but since we have already seen early versions of Gibson, Smith, Edmonds, MacGwire, Simmons and Musial I fully expect there to be a dry spell of several months when it comes to Cardinals legends before some of these guys get their 99s.
We'll probably see some low to mid 90's versions of maybe Holiday and Brock.
As an observation and not necessarily a complaint, it was interesting to see Ozzie with only 87 fielding in a year that he won one of his many Gold Gloves. But I understand how they have to tweak some things to keep within the power curve.

Do cornerstone card evolve? If so what do they top out at?
