We need every team's commentators for Regional Broadcast games and World Series commentators
-
I don't think that any console can do that and I doubt it's in the budget.
-
No....just.....no.
-
Honestly you big. It sounds so easy but you must realize the commentators have to do this in their off-season they have to stimulate almost every game every play pitched by a pitch. They assimilate everything that's happening from an actual game and commentate basically blind baseball from start to finish strikeouts runners. Everything they have to do it by themselves and they probably don't even get paid. So for all the teams, that's a far-fetched wish list. But yes there is a way you can import audio into the game
-
Not even remotely possible. You do understand that these people are paid handsomely for the use of their voices in the game. Do you really think you could multiply the current talent budget by 30 times and keep the game affordable for most customers?

I feel like people dont even take into consideration how much money things like this would cost. And if they ever got the announcers for all 30 teams (60 announcers if you're looking for a color commentator and a play-by-play man), these same people would be in here like "Last year we had 200 legends....this year we only have 50. Why?"
-
@PriorFir4383355_XBL Well it is possible but not practical. They can physically do it, but like you said it would be hella expensive. I would love to have every team's announcer for immersion but honestly I'd be happy with just one more male PA so you'd have the choice between two male and two female voices.
-
They make enough money to do this and it would be the right thing to do. But let’s be real we can’t even get a roster update.
I worry it would compromise specific details about players. But if you implement Ai voices and just buy the rights to the announcers voices it may not even be that far fetched.
These kind of concepts are far above the heads of SDS, they are more concerned about the players that buy VC.
Since last season I turn the volume low and just play some podcasts in the background. I’ve heard the same lines from these dolts since Vascursion left.
I’m so with you but you gotta realize who we are dealing with here. Basically a monopoly, as madden has. Until somebody at least try’s to push a product similar to NBA Live, which is buns but at least it pushes 2K to be the best. I doubt we’ll get any substantial improvements until next gen god willing.
-
Anyone but Joe Buck, can't stand him
-
Alright let's go. These are all the announcers and channels SDS would have to get the rights to and record:
Yankees (YES) Michael Kay, Paul O'Neill, David Cone
Rays (FanDuel Sports Network Sun) Dewayne Staats, Brian Anderson
Red Sox (NESN) Dave O'Brien, Lou Merloni
Blue Jays (SportsNet) Dan Schulman, Buck Martinez,
Orioles (MASN) Kevin Brown, Jim Palmer, Ben McDonald
Twins (TWINS.TV) Cory Provus, Justin Morneau
Guardians (CLEGUARDIANS.TV) Matt Underwood, Rick Manning (since this is TV no Tom Hamilton (DOWN GOES ANDERSON)
White Sox (Chicago Sports Network) John Schriffen, Steve Stone (R.I.P. Hawk Harrelson
Royals (FanDuel Sports Network Kansas City) Denny Matthews, Rex Hudler
Tigers (FanDuel Sports Network Detroit) Jason Benetti, Andy Dirks, Dan Petry
Astros (Space City Home Network) Todd Kalas, Geoff Blum
Athletics (NBC Sports California) Jenny Cavnar (Oh, boy), Dallas Braden
Rangers (RSN) Dave Raymond, Mike Bacsik, David Murphy
Angels (FanDuel Sports Network West) Wayne Randazzo, Mark Gubicza
Mariners (Root Sports Northwest) Aaron Goldsmith, Jay Buhner, Angie Mentnik
That's just the AL alone (also, LMK if I missed any commentators - the internet sometimes doesn't make sense. -

If I am playing as the Yankees and using Regional Broadcast instead of MLB Network I want to hear Michael Kay.
-
As soon as they put in Boog Sciambi's ignorance I started playing it muted anyway.

Is it "possible" that you would pay $500 for MLB The Show to enjoy hearing each of the 30 MLB teams' announcers?
I mean, yes, it is possible from a technical standpoint, perhaps! However, to expand the voice library files by 30 times might also be impractical.
-
@PriorFir4383355_XBL Would need a whole PS5 or XBOX harddrive just to hold all the files of one game!

You're probably correct!
-
Okay, National League
Braves (FanDuel Sports Network South) Brandon Gaudin (Yes, the Madden announcer), C.J. Nitkowski, Jeff Francouer
Nationals (MASN) Bob Carpenter, Kevin Frandsen
Mets (SNY) The Best Booth in Baseball (LGM) Gary Cohen, Keith Hernandez, Ron Darling
Phillies (NBC Sports Philadelphia) Tom McCarthy, John Kruk, Ben Davis
Marlins (FanDuel Sports Network Florida) Kyle Sielaff, Tommy Hutton
Cardinals (FanDuel Sports Network Midwest) Chip Caray, Brad Thompson (R.I.P. Jack Buck)
Brewers (FanDuel Sports Network Wisconsin) Brian Anderson, Bill Schroeder
Cubs (Marquee Sports Network) Jon Sciambi, Jim Deshaies
Reds (FanDuel Sports Network Ohio) John Sadak, Barry Larkin
Pirates (SportsNet Pittsburgh) Greg Brown, Bob Walk, Joe Block
Dodgers (Spectrum SportsNet LA) Joe Davis, Orel Hershiser
Diamondbacks (DBACKS.TV) Steve Berthiaume, Bob Brenly
Giants (NBC Sports Bay Area) Dwayne Kuiper, Mike Krukow (Idc we also need Jon Miller even though he's radio)
Rockies (ROCKIES.TV) Drew Goodman, Ryan Spilborghs, Jeff Huson
Padres (PADRES.TV) Don Orsillo, Mark "Mud" Grant
Quite a lot of announcers they'd have to add and never will. You'll need to locate your servers to Mars to power something like this! -
@TheBigPapa55_PSN Also, can't forget Rick Rizzs for the M's. The Yankees now has one of our former commentators in Dave Sims.
-
@dap1234567890_PSN
Just doing TV -
I agree, it would be really expensive.
That said, could it be feasible to have add on packages?
Then you wouldn't pay 500$ or whatever, you pay 20$ for a set ( by division? ) of commentators.
-

That's literally what i said here, "Well it is possible but not practical."
-
Plus, national broadcasts:
FOX - Joe Davis, John Smoltz, Ken Rosenthal (Reporter)
FOX (X2) Joe Buck, Tim McCarver
FS1 - Jason Benetti, A.J. Pierzynski
ESPN - Karl Ravech, Eduardo Perez, David Cone, Buster Olney (Reporter)
Apple TV+ - Wayne Randazzo, Dontrelle Willis, Heidi Watney (Reporter)
MLB Network - Matt Vasgersian, Buck Martinez
TBS - Bob Costas (Yes, I'm aware of his retirement), Ron Darling (The Studio with Ernie Johnson, Pedro Martinez, Curtis Granderson, and Jimmy Rollins would be great).
That's 37 TV Channels and I can't even count the amount of announcers
