Lack of Diamonds in Show packs

Yep. Going into the day I hadn’t pulled a diamond in about a week. Yesterday I was off work and played a good amount. Finished jester conquest, most of the last ride and April spotlight programs, diamond quest run, and half a mini season and all the packs gained totaled around 100 more with you guessed it zero diamonds. I wonder if they tightened things up to get the last bit of juice from the orange knowing this weekend league could potentially kill the market next weekend.

Still no diamonds and add my first chase pack to the mix and…..it was a gold….of course. Ugh, just laughable at this point.

Haha guess I had the pack gods on my side this year… don’t worry I’m not usually this pack lucky

Hell, I'm grateful if I get a gold. Sometimes I don't even get a silver.

Well this thread turns out to have some slight magic like the Stuck in Moment thread. After posting about my dry spell I pulled 3 diamonds out of 5 earned Ballin packs. Mookie Betts, Blake Snell, and All-Star Ronin Yount.
Is Ronin Yount Robin's twin brother?
Unfortunately no, it's just my crappy eyesight and refusal to wear my glasses lol...

I had a few extra stubs so I bought a 50 pack bundle and pulled 1 diamond. I was hoping if I didn’t get one of the big live series diamonds I could at least make my money back. Not even close. I lost big.

Packs are never worth it. The odds of getting a good diamond are far worse than 2%. Let the compulsive gamblers pay for packs and hope to get lucky on the grindable packs. Buy the individual cards you want no matter how “due” you feel.

Oh I get it and to each their own. If someone wants to buy packs they can go for it but it’s gonna be disappointing 99% of the time. Lately it’s weird because this is the longest I’ve gone by far without pulling a diamond from a standard or ballin pack. I have 9 live series diamonds left including most of the heavy hitters and have made zero progress as of late. Trying to stay patient but it gets frustrating for sure.

I went a long time without diamonds almost 400 packs. But I can say since Thursday I’ve pulled a ton. I’m down to Soto, Ohtani, betts, Acuna, Sale, Witt and JRam. I knock off the lower priced ones so next it will be Sale and Acuna. All free packs. I can honestly no longer complain. Do I feel there is an issue…yes. But I still won’t spend money on stubs

I'm in a similar position. For Beltran I'm missing:
-Shohei
-Soto
-Lindor
-Ketel
-Harper -
It’s really strange so many players are going thru something similar. If it was truly random I don’t believe it would run so hot and cold. Not saying there is shady stuff going on but I’m sure SDS is fully aware of how much each of us plays the game, the number of packs we’ve opened, and what diamonds we are pulling. The dry spells have to be somewhat by design to keep us engaged and possibly spend real money either on packs, stubs or both. After a while they have to toss us a few diamonds or we might just walk away completely. Again not saying it’s totally rigged but I am saying SDS is ultimately in control at the end of the day.

I just generally don't trust larger or even medium sized companies. Their only goal is to increase profits. And they will do anything (legal or easy to cover up illegal) to maximize profits.
And again people freak out when I compare Sony/SDS to 2K. I know 2K is worse. But I've been pointing out little things SDS is now doing that they hadn't been doing other years. They are trending towards more micro transactions and more of a 2K model.
I've never spent money on stubs. Not once. But I admit this year lately it's crossed my mind. I know that's what Sony/SDS wants though so I still refuse to do it. But I wonder how many former NMS players will give in to the temptation this year and start buying stubs.

Yeah it’s clear they are trending that way. The last 2 years have raised some yellow flags. I still enjoy the game but nowhere near as much as I did in 20, 21 or even 22. 23 and 24 were huge steps back for me and this year with all the strange glitches and lack of pack luck it has already left a bad taste in my mouth in record time. I truly hope things turn around because right now I’m souring pretty fast.

All I get is bats and retro stadiums. I wish those weren’t included in the pack odds lol

I gave up on buying packs a long time ago and just grind for the free packs. My biggest gripe this year is it seems much harder to accumulate stubs than years past.
