The Payoff to the April Fools Common Courtesy Program
-
Collect all 4 players in the Common Courtesy Program to earn
s of each of them:
Richie Ashburn
Vida Blue
Joe Morgan
Stan Musial
Available in #MLBTheShow 25 at noon, so start playing the Common Courtesy Program now!
-
While I will do this to get Stan Musial I still say that it will be a few hours or a day of not really enjoying myself while doing missions that require me to play badly.
-
@Dolenz_PSN The trick is not having to try.
-
I love that we're disrespecting Joe Morgan. Every other diamond in the program correlates to the team they're most associated with ... except for ...
-
Do we have to have this done by a certain time?

I don't believe so.
The Deluxe pack they were rewarding yesterday was only for 24 hours (the April Fools part of the program) because that reward was replaced today with these cards.

If the missions don’t change, you don’t actually have to play bad on purpose — I did it mostly by playing the new conquest map with an all-common squad and getting the repeatable 500 PXP mission (along with the 3 player PXP missions). But not everyone would enjoy playing with commons (and of course, some people may have trouble winning with them).
-
Took me an hour with a play now vs CPU.
-
Doesnt even really take a few hours. Load up a team of 64 and under, with as many Cubs/Cards players as you can. Get a 64 or under pitcher for the Royals. Just throw meatballs over the plate to give up the 20 Hits, by then they should have 10 runs scored. Keep the pitcher in for a few innings as 27 outs with batters will get you 405 of the 500 pxp. After the 3rd inning, replace the pitcher with someone better, plow through the rest of the game.
After the first game you should have around 34 program points. Go into a second game with 4 CFs to do the Ks mission and 1-2 Cubs/Cards to get those Ks done, pitch with the Vida Blue common. The CFs and any non Cubs/Cards should be A's....get on base with them and get caught stealing and you're done. I think i finished in just about an hour.

Had a feeling this would be coming today! Pretty fun little program. Something different.

I'll see how it goes.
All I know is that unless try to go the 1000 PXP repeatable route, which will probably require me to play with a common squad far more than I would like, I will need to.
- Strike out roughly 35 or 40 times. 15 with Cubs, 15 with Cardinals (There goes my stats on some of my Cardinals), then a few more for CFs. Not hard but time consuming and tedious.
- Load my infield with 2B and purposely mess up any throws to get the errors. Probably pretty quick.
- Give up runs - Simply intentional walk everyone. Tedious but it should not take long.
- Caught Steeling with A's - More annoying. I have to play with the A's. Get them on base and pray that they get caught stealing.
Which begs the question, what is the rule on quitting out of CPU games? How much do I need to play for these stat missions to count?
-
Got it dome yesterday in pretty short order while also helping some TA stuff,
I also suspect that the Diamond collection will also be worth the remaining points to get the final reward and say completed
-
Stat missions count as long as you quit or finish the game (they don’t count if you disconnect / close app). It’s only PXP that has a requirement.
-
Hardest part was the errors for me...Had Nico Hoerner and Vidal Brujan to double up on Cubs K's...I couldn't get anyone to hit a ground ball to them. And if they did, I'd try to just sit on it and it wouldn't give me an error. Put Nico at First hoping he'd drop some throws...Still...No Ground Balls and he caught everything thrown at him. Ended up putting Brujan behind the plate and let him get some Passed Balls.

Its only 500 pxp for the repeatable mission. Once you unlock that Vida Blue card, thats all you need in the lineup if you're not doing the stat route i laid out above.
And FYI, you dont have to do the errors stat mission.
FYI #2 - Get the 4 slowest guys on the A's for your bench. Get on base with one of your cards, sub for the A's, steal attempt.

I normally use button throw and don't use the meter. I'll will turn on the meter and simply botch the throws. Shoot I probably would not even need to try and mess up.
-
If you guys are having trouble getting caught stealing, hold the steal button instead of tapping until you feel it shake, then release. This way the runner takes off before the pitch and they will pick him off which counts as being caught stealing.
-
I wasn't expecting this honestly, this is cool and well done. i thought the commons were it.
I was thinking the high number of strikeouts were overkill, but the rewards are worth it
I never did finish the error mission, just used Vida more to get the common pxp repeatable.
-
Or for the errors with 2nd baseman if there's no one on base just throw the ball to the shortstop and that'll count as an error
-
@Dolenz_PSN OH! I didn't even think of that. Good Call
