I've often thought about this MLB Players league. That's a ton of free advertising for them. And then to see the players complain about issues is quite a sight.
Yea it seems like the really just missed a shot by putting out a game that wasn’t ready.
They put out a solid game. The issue is they messed it up only a week after it was released. They have no one to blame but themselves

I watched a lot of the players’ tourney and I couldn’t help but be embarrassed for SDS. I really don’t understand why they can’t just roll the code back to what it was on release. I know there were some issues then too, but the fielding wasn’t this bad. There were a few glitches like Trout not being able to catch a fly at the wall and an occasional ball warping through the wall, but the game played way better and was fun. The newest player Moments are so bad mainly because the game is just playing really bad. Unbelievably I went back to Madden (a game I hadn’t returned to for 7 months) because 2K is terrible and The Show has become not fun to play with all the glitches. This is coming from someone who completed all the collections and ground up to middle of Silver level by last week without even playing Showdown. I’m hoping they fix it soon. It’s hard to hide all the [censored] with everybody at home playing games all day and the problems very prominently being displayed and cussed about with a worldwide audience all day.

It is hard to say that....Most feel when the game was put out it was a helluva lot closer to "being ready" than the butcher job they've done with these last 4 patches
I agree with this the game was fun early on

I haven’t had much to complain about as far as hitting and pitching, but fielding and base running definitely need work.

They choked when esports took off as well, had a chance to jump in and ride the crest of the wave, but the product was flawed and inconsistent. That was almost a half decade ago and not much has changed.

The game hasn’t been ready in years. Just the same song and dance year after year.

Before patch 1.04 it was a blast. Defense and pitching had its biggest issues. But you could hit your way back into the game. Now it’s pitch and pray , hope a defender locks on and just hope your early or late when swinging

It’s quite something to see it happening to MLB players on Twitch in the league they are promoting. Embarrassing really.

It’s pathetic but I feel like an abused wife.
This is finally the year were I decide I’ve had enough. I’m tired of being deceived and lied to year after year. Skill will never mean anything significant in this game.
It hurts but it’s time to actually move on from the game I used to love and not buy this game anymore.

What got me this year was the whole virus thing. I enjoyed ‘19 but gave up playing for the year a little earlier than usual, I didn’t watch any of the prerelease streams for ‘20, I wasn’t buying the game this year, I was taking a year off at least and then Coronavirus hit and I was stuck at home. I watched the VOD of the streams, let myself get sucked in by the new legends and promises of perfect perfect making a difference and decided to buy it.
I know it will be tempting next year, with all the shiny new upgrades for next gen and cross play but I really need to stop myself from preordering at the very least. The first month or two are always the worst, they can never tune the gameplay correctly, the early content is weak and never used beyond summer, the preorder bonus cards aren’t exclusive to customers who preordered and usually get down to quick sell value within weeks anyway, there’s very little reason to support a game which you know will launch in beta for the first few weeks. By the time it’s on sale, you might have something close to the finished product.
