Why does a PS4 version mean that the PS5 version must be held back? I grew up with older systems and I don't recall that being the case with crossover years for SNES/N64, PS1/2, 2/3, etc. The newer system had a clearly better game that was coveted. More importantly, if PS6 is released in '27/'28, does that mean Sony will hold back for another 5+ years into that system's existence?

@xRatedGProdigyx_PSN Right! Both EA & 2K were able to upgrade the current gen experience while copy & pasting the game on last gen. As of now it's just the community's scapegoat (although I won't lie this kinda does boost the theory they were mandated to have the same game across all consoles)

@xRatedGProdigyx_PSN Because it is software you gotta code …. If you improve the game significantly (I suppose that will be the case), you have to put in a lot of ressources to make the game still work on „lower platforms“ for the same system. That is a tradeoff you gotta do. They have to invest into a lot of systems and they put in the work for those systems they benefit the most of (also an assumption, this is a business).
And yes, sometimes you leave people behind doing business decisions … In the early eras (you mentioned SNES, N64…) that was always the case. It sometimes gave people a cause to upgrade (or not) -
I don't understand why they couldn't make 2 separate versions with no crossplay . That way you get more revenue.

Alright as far as Gamepass goes…It totally depends on what kind of gamer you are. My brother in law is someone who likes to unlock all the achievements on as many games as he can. So Gamepass is a HUGE benefit to a player like him….Now me personally - I buy The Show, College Football and COD every year and that’s pretty much all I play. So Gamepass would be a waste of money for me personally.

I used to be on of those who said "Gamepass, yeah whatever". But the truth be known it has saved me quite a lot of money just in the last few months (MS Flight Sim and Indiana Jones)
How is that Indiana Jones? Ive heard great reviews so far....just waiting for it to be on PS5.

I really liked it. It felt like a proper Indiana Jones game. Troy Baker did a great job as Indy.

@Capt-Clutch-2K24_PSN Precisely why I am considering not buying and I have both ps5 and x. I am on fiber in KC and the game plays extremely bad (I could list a plethora of things I see in the game that cause problems. Hitting/pitching/fielding all affected) starting around July when a lot of people start leaving. It was earlier this year and majority of my match-ups were against east coast (yes, I checked quite a few of them) and the p2p with east coast people were dreadful. Looks like the bad matchmaking may happen at launch alienating that many people.

I bought 21 even though it was on gamepass. Wanted to support the only real baseball game on xbox.
Played 22, 23, and 24 via gamepass.... Looks like I am buying 25.Baseball is simply the best sports game on consoles as far as I am concerned.
It's the only sports game I play, so I guess I'm buying it,
