How to Save MLB The Show (In My Opinion)
-
I love everything you said. I dont play Co-Op, i'm more of a lone wolf. But i totally get it.
I'd love to go next gen only.....love it. but unfortunately i dont see this happening. Card Art i dont care as much. I just dont need 57 99 Aaron Judges. I hope they bring the slow creep back as they did in '21. I'd also love to see the Dashboarders really punished. Too much of it. Also too many racist or ignorant team names that need to be policed way better. One final thing. They got rid of the CAP player this year great, now get rid of the Created Stadium in online ranked and BR. Save it for grinding or events. -
they mentioned they were boosting the AI and other things for MLB 25 that could not be done before due to framerate issues. with current gen only that problem goes away. i guarantee you its current gen only
-
@ace_hardlight28_PSN i hope you're right....i truly do.

I guarantee that it won't be. See it is easy to guarantee things that we are just speculating on.
There are still far too many customers on the Switch, PS4 and Xbox one out there.
As a PS5/Xbox Series X owner I would have no problem with it being next gen only. I just think you are jumping to conclusions.

You are arguing with a 10 yr old

They would've already said it so it gives people time that play on the last Gen consoles time to get at next Gen console. Guaranteed that your wrong

"Guarantee it is!"
"Guarantee it's not!"
Lol, really. 2K released different versions of NBA last time I bought it -- a few years ago when current gen was next gen.
I "guarantee" that if there is a current gen, they're not abandoning the last gen. Too much $.
GUARANTEED, lol.

For me, personally there's a couple things they can improve on...one of which was already addressed with the much requested removal of sets and seasons
#1- Go back to the old way of finishing Innings/Programs, where you could either get (for example) X amount of XBH, X amount of K's, X amount of RBI, X amount of HR in H2H/Ranked OR double those amounts in vs CPU modes.
#2- With custom stadiums in online play...give us set parameters to stay within in order to keep it online eligible, like maybe the actual MLB minimums, or the shortest porches in actual MLB stadiums...and shorter than those and they lose their online eligibility
#3- Speaking of Created Stadiums...new props, proper seating, use the wall as the hard trim line as well as the ground. Let us pinch in foul territory to further customize the field, let us actually add on to the batter's eyes...and while we're at it can we make the batter's eyes actually line up with the fence? I mean, the Eye at Target Field IS part of the fence. Lose the deadzones/no go zones, making the fence the hard line and not the imaginary barrier left behind from moving the fenceline. More seating styles, scoreboard inlays for the fences, home run stripes

As long as it is not a grind like it was in '18.
There is nothing that I really enjoy about always playing with a lineup of players I could not care less about for weeks at a time to just to earn a another card I may want, especially at the beginning of the year when it is grinding those stats with lesser cards.

How to "save" MLB the Show? This is by no means an original thought, but how about start by capping ratings in all categories at 99 (which would actually make a 99 card something special). Once you've got that, nerf the [censored] sliders so 30% of all hits are not HRs (Joey Gallo is only one man); if someone has less than 90 power, they should need pretty close to perfect placement just under the ball and at least good timing to send it out, as only about 10% of fly balls end up being home runs in the real game.
Game play should be the focus, and that focus should primarily be on improved, simulated physics and a more realistic distribution of hits. Game modes and everything else is gravy.
And the opening cinematics for the new game should feature someone dropping a bomb on Shield Woods park, followed by the smooth vocal stylings of Bob Kendrick explaining how everyone who chose to play in that park is a terrible person and how its inclusion was a mistake that will never happen again.

Remember when people guaranteed McGwire and Sosa would never be in the game?

How to save MLB The Show
-
Put pitcher pitch mix on the screen. That way your opponent can see it and doesn't have to hit R2 after EVERY F'N pitch.
-
Get rid of high elevation stadiums, except Coors Field, in H2H play. No more Shield Woods and Laughing Mountain.
-
DONT ALLOW CREATED STADIUMS IN H2H PLAY!
-
-
@Capt-Clutch-2K24_PSN disagree on created stadiums , just make sure the dimensions meet a realistic minimum.
I only play in my created stadium. -

Which mode are we talking about here. Franchise with a live roster or Diamond Dynasty with dream teams?
There is always going to be a debate over whether this game is a simulation or an arcade game. Personally, I'd put DD more in the arcade category.
People don't play DD to hit singles with Ozzie Smith or someone like Keith Hernandez. There is a reason people choose Trea Turner and Lindor over Smith. Why they would choose Harper or Freeman over Hernandez.
People want to hit HRs. Shoot there is a reason we see several people every year complain about the HR counter being reset after 255 HRs in RTTS.
There has always been two camps with this game. Those who want an even more realistic simulation and those who just want to get on the game and smash with their favorite players. There is no path SDS can take that will ever 100% satisfy both groups.

After each player picks their pitcher let us see them so we can make any lineup changes we want on the lineup screen instead of having to do it in game.

would be less fun … and some guys here told us, that it was in the game … being an awful thing, so it was dropped

Cause they'll play 9 RHB if it's LHP and vice versa. They could just play nine switch hitters though.

It used to be in.
People would stack their lineups with lefties and if they came up against a leftie pitcher they simply backed out of the game and were never being penalized for it. It wastes the time of the other player and is just a cheap tactic.
