Can we be smart for next year and borrow or steal some of the ideas they are doing well in their game so MLB the Show is better? I don’t think the game looks better but the shading and lighting is very, very good. SDS is already doing a good job on that this year but clearly the other game has showed that there is room to improve.
    Animations-
If you watch the gameplay there looks to be so many of they and they look to branch off each other well. I’ve watched and played the game more than a few times and I don’t see many or any of the same animations played. Scripted stuff like showing the coaches and stuff are the same but the coaches actually react to errors and good plays in that game which is cool. (I’m a catcher in real like so I watched them close) The catchers in that game look and feel a guy behind the plate catching and receiving the ball. They jump to spots and actually track the ball and move their glove to play the ball; when I go back to The Show the catchers don’t move much and only have 3 stances really. Adding fielding styles on top of the animations there are already would set players apart in how they move to the ball and throw the ball.
    Pitches-
Their pitches look like they break more realistic than The Show does. Like all curveballs in The Show look like they move the same and there only feels like a few arm slots like 2 or 3 other then submarine pitchers. It would be nice to pick a windup or stretch and then pick an arm slot for pitchers. I feel like if those are added ontop of better moving pitches, the meta online of 100 and sinkers and sliders could finally change if you allow us to shape and tunnel pitches better. I’m thinking Zach Wheeler who has 3 breaking [censored] and a cutter.
    Hitting-
SDS has them beat but maybe not allowing people to hit from a zoomed in strike zone could be a good change for the future even tho that could upset people. (I use it so I’d be annoyed to adjust.)
Look their game isn’t perfect but neither is MLB the Show. All I’m saying is take notes and make smart adjustments for the future. Hell take a game mode they have that we don’t I don’t care, I just want the best baseball game and for the metas to change so it’s not as sweaty and more fun.

Totally agree about the animations and pitch shapes.
