@Spartan_Pho3nix_MLBTS I believe quirks on players who are still in the league are based on last year which is an awful system, but explains the change. Not sure about the extreme pull thing.
It's the last 3 years. And let's be real...Trout now isn't the Trout from 5 years ago
-
@GoozeFn_PSN I guess that kinda makes sense regarding the perks but considering the fact that it’s a Retro Finest card shouldn’t he have his old perks and swing? It’s just odd to me that SDS wouldn’t give a beloved player some upgrades this late in the year. Really hope this doesn’t become the norm.
-
@Easy_Duhz_It__PSN Live series stats are based off the last 3 years, not quirks.
-
@Spartan_Pho3nix_MLBTS Yeah, it’s a terrible system.
-
Well if he played more he probably would have better attributes/quirks.
He has put up really good numbers when on the field,makes me wonder- was he really badly hurt or...
if he was making 5m instead of 40 and/or playing on team expected to get more than 65-70 wins, would have been back in 2 weeks to a month? -
I think this is where SDS is being a bit too clever for their own good. They are across the board degrading these player cards based on injuries sustained by the players in real life. This is a logical disconnect. Because if the players are not injured in the game, then it makes no sense to degrade them based on injury in real life. It just muddies up the situation.
In my view, a superior method would be to rate the cards based on career achievement for cards presented as a legacy program, and for the previous season for normal cards, and then leave them alone.
-
But... isn't this card based on his 2018 year? I don't think any of the prior 3 years should come into play, right?
-
@MarioMendoza935_XBL Again, quirks for active players are based on last year. Yes, the stats are based on that year only.

Didn't realize that. Thanks for clarifying
Weird...
-
@MarioMendoza935_XBL Yeah, it’s a really dumb system some of the streamers have been criticizing for years.
-
99 Trout plays fine, good timing and perf perf lineouts are the issue, especially when ur PCI SWALLOWS THE WHOLE BALL
-
@Spartan_Pho3nix_MLBTS
What do you want him to have extreme pull? Is it so people who use auto shift you can hit against the shift?
I’m just curious, I never saw it as much of an advantage. The active quirks absolutely, but I don’t have the card so I would have to see what he has.
Thanks -
@brainfreeze442_PSN
In my experience... "Extreme Pull" cards (i.e. Griffey Jr, Betts, Blackmon, Carpenter, Belli, etc) have a quicker swing and are able to turn quicker on inside FBs (a pitch that a lot of users throw in online H2H). Contrarily, "Push" hitters do well going the other way and have an advantage making good contact with away stuff. -

I can’t be sure which players have that quirk because I never looked at it; however, I do hit well with the ones you have listed.
Do you feel Trout’s swing has changed this year?
