MLB should be ashamed of themselves for not putting the best hitting in MLB History in the HOF. SDS you guys should get permission from Pete Roses family and put this man in our game to honor him FK MLB and the HOF put him in the Show’s HOF!!

Cooperstown has made a LOT of money off both. If they are going to display those players' equipment and draw attention to their accomplishments as a way to make money, both should be allowed in.

Him passing really hit me hard. I always saw him as the toughest player I ever saw growing up.
From a human standpoint, he should be forgiven. It's not like he took a life, or something.
He's the base hit king, for crying out loud.

He broke the one rule that keeps MLB from being the WWE.
He knew the punishment was a permanent ban. He did it anyway.

He did some pretty bad things unrelated to betting. Maybe we should let Wander Franco back in the league.

He put the league in a terrible position. He knew the punishment for gambling was a lifetime ban. Signs were posted in every clubhouse. If the league didn't give him the lifetime ban, one of two (or both) things would happen: 1) everyone would see that there are rules for stars and rules for everyone else, or 2) players would assume that the rules and consequences have no teeth. Every parent knows that if you threaten a punishment, you sure as s-word better follow through or you've lost 100% of your credibility. A lifetime ban is harsh and I hate that one of the best of all-time isn't in the Hall. But it's not like he's the only one who bent or broke the rules and had to pay the price.
EDIT: and we all know that his haircut alone was enough to keep him out of the Hall. Good gravy, pete. You're a national icon. Pay more than 4 bucks for a haircut!

It's supposed to be ok now??It's okay for people not involved in the game to bet. I personally don't understand the allure of gambling but the rules for why Rose is banned are specifically because he was involved in the game.
