Stub Sale.

Anyone who buys stubs from them needs there head examined 150k in stubs for $100.00 is absolutely insanity
-
Right now it is 300,000 stubs for $100. One thing people need to understand is that game developers do not make much from game sales anymore compared to what games cost to make. They make money off of the micro-transactions associated with the games.
-
I think it's hilarious that people need to buy stubs because it's easier than ever to get stubs just by playing the game and flipping cards on the market
-
I don’t by stubs

A post about a Stubs sale.
You can't miss it, as soon as you boot up:'Hi. Stubs are on sale for the gullible ones who got the game for free on PSN' 🤪

I may have spit some coffee onto my laptop in my office lol.

It's always crazy to me that people want to spend on top of regular game price. I have 4 million stubs without really trying and maybe flip cards for 10 minutes a day every few days. Buy cards and when my balance dips below 4 million just flip a few minutes and I have all my stubs back the next day.

I thought I hit the mother lode with Hunter Greene...but I got nabbed with a visual glitch on the Wednesday before the update I bought a ton of him because it showed him at 84(not the 81 he was apparently at). But yeah, I'm not gonna drop extra money into the game when we already get hosed enough

I haven't bought stubs since launch....there is no point. My guess is less people are buying them, even though some of the better cards are gated by packs, you can still be competitive with the free ones or ones you get from an occasional free store pack (conquest, collections etc)
Maybe it will make them rethink the pack strategy, in the past I feel people bought stubs to complete live series (not as urgent this year since AL/NL cards weren't amazing) or buying cards from BR or RS. I haven't seen any card I desperately wanted enough to buy stubs. All the players I wanted are in the Boss packs (personal pref for 90's, 00's players and HOF)

I was one of those "gullible" ones who bought stubs with money when I played MLB The Show 22. That was a big reason why I took a year off and didn't buy 23. I just got 24 through PS Plus and I won't be spending cash for stubs. And so far, I'm having a good time doing it. I'm not that great a player, so I'm not playing online, just single player stuff. I know I started late this year, but I'm wondering how I would have done had I started in March. Either way, I'm just playing and enjoying it. I'm considering coming back in March next year, but I don't think I'll be paying $100 for the Deluxe version. I may just go with the Standard version.

@Crimson_Monk_PSN There's still a thing, though, that if you're not really a skilled player (speaking from experience here) there are a lot of really really good cards you don't have a chance to get. That's a downside I've come to accept. Yeah, there are still a lot of good cards (and even really good cards) I can get, but still that seems unfair to me.

They used to allow you to get the same rewards as online players IIRC, the missions were just twice as long. Instead of 25 XBH for online, it was 50 offline...that sort of thing. I may be misremembering, but I swear that's how they used to do it

Flipping is too easy. The other day, I was flipping a 99 Pete Crow Armstrong card for x>30,000 profit per flip.
-
More often than not, if you wait a couple weeks, a 300,000 stubs card becomes 30,000.
-
I wonder how removing CAPs influenced their bottom line. A lot of the merchandise and rituals were pretty expensive.
-
The way they did sets & seasons didn't do them any favors. Why waste stubs on a card that's unusable in almost everything other than casual in three weeks?
I could go on and on. My point is that their marketplace system gives me zero motivation to purchase stubs (that said, I did purchase their two charity packs earlier this season).
