Players that have not received a 2024 season card that should have
-
People frequently point to lack of legends as an excuse for things, I would argue they dont use the current players enough, and in particular the current season
From the perspective of my team alone, here are players that dont have cards related to the 2024 season that should:
Fresh start cards warranted: JD martinez, Bader
2024 season stats warranted:
Sean manaea
David Peterson
Jose ButtoTopps Now not used:
Starling marteI would imagine many teams have similar lists (okay maybe not the White Sox)
I know season award and topps now are meant to cover the current season, but they are short term focused in nature outside of the lightning players

I’ll speak for my Twins.
Griffin Jax: 1.96 ERA in 59 IP with 77 K’s
His live series did go diamond last update.Simeon Woods Richardson: 23 games 3.85 ERA, 117 IP with 102 k’s. Quietly one of the most reliable starters in the AL this year.
-
Connor Wong

I would add Abreu and Kenley as deserving
You could even make a case for Pivetta who has an impressive K/BB ratio over 5.@BJDUBBYAH_PSN said in Players that have not received a 2024 season card that should have:

Joe Ryan, Vazquez Topps Now, Santana Fresh Start also acceptable answers. I guess Lopez's 2023 card is enough for him.

Hoping the Twins have a deep playoff run, and Pablo keeps doing what he's been his last few starts

I just hope my team sneaks into the playoffs. Not looking good with the remaining schedule

Oddly they have played better versus the tough teams it will be close but the games they lost to teams they should have beat over the last 2 months will prob end up costing them overachieved I believe this year

Alec Burleson leads the Cardinals in HR (21), RBIs (72), OPS (.777) and is one point behind Winn in AVG (.282)
Still just has his silver live series card.

A Season Award or Topps Now card? No.
He has his Core Live Series (73) and Set 2 All-Star Flashback (92)
And he has been replaced on my Cardinals team by Lance Lynn

I'll speak for my Pirates. Ummm... We're good.
-
Hope to see Austin Wells get a card soon. He started slow in April/May, but since then has been one of the best offensive catchers in MLB.
He hit two home runs the other night which hopefully will get him a Topps Now card this week.
-
I hope to see a zach wheeler Topps Now card he was great in the month of August and should probably get NL Pitcher of the Month IMO
-
Wheeler already has a good card though. Didn't he have a 95 AS card?

Keller has had a solid year, and Ortiz has gone under the radar with Skenes and Jones getting all the attention
-
I bet we see a Nats Darren Baker Topps Now card on Friday.

I second Conner Wong for sure. He was a borderline All-Star and certainly should at least have a Topps Now by this point.
Has Topps actually given him a Topps Now card? I searched and could find any indication that they have. SDS does not create the Topps Now cards. They simply choose from the ones that Topps released for that week.
He may have been in line for a Season Award card in April, May or June but he fell off in July and Aug.
The same problem exists for Alec Burleson for the Cardinals. He has not gotten an actual Topps Now card this year and while he has been very good (.280 AVG & 21 HRs) he has not been hot enough over a long stretch to earn a Season Award card.

With the new SA format he could have gotten one for mid June when he had 4 straight multi hit games, including a 2 HR game. A lot of these guys will get finests at least
