Your Card reveals and teases for Season 3

At least DeGrom was a shortstop in college. Bryce played catcher in Jr. college. Any of these other cards even remotely resemble a position they played at one time? I get that it's "OOP", but wondering if any of you know if these guys actually played their new assigned position...
Oh - and looks like Skenes played catcher in high school @SaveFarris_PSN
CC played football in high school, so he used to hit other players. DH makes sense.
Blackmon pitched in college, but looks like he was a starter.
Jansen was signed by the Dodgers as a catcher.
Maysn pitched in high school.
OK - that's enough Wikipedia for the afternoon.

What in the actual F. Is there a woman in charge of content? First, we put a woman in a men's sport. Not sexist, I assure you. But really? Second,, power creep that was given no thought towards how it might play. Third,, XP max out so that we are fair to everyone? Yea. Okay. Now this garbage? Whoever is in charge of content might want to give thought to another career path. This entire game cycle is a flop.

Last year, SDS did a few of these cards via TN (Adam Wainwright, Brandon Crawford, Nicky Lopez, few others) and they received a nice reception. An early season program would've worked. An entire TA coming off resetting everyone from their 99s seems like overkill though.
Postseason and finest are right around the corner after this. If this flops hard / gets old quickly, since they started at 95s, they can change course after 1-2 weeks and fire up dem '99s.

Season Awards Drop 1 of Season 4 - Only four cards instead of 5?
-
At least there was some thought put into this. DeGrom is the met pitcher that makes the most sense to give a hitting card too. Then I immediately thought of the other Jake, and checked the Cub card. Sure enough it was him.
I still hate the idea though, ESPECIALLY during pennant chase time. This is serious baseball time, not the time to be doing goofy [censored] like that

Really hard to take you seriously when you start like that.

Yay! As a Red Sox fan I had 0 desire to use Kutter Crawford as a SP.
But as a SS? I have -1000 desire.
This is the dumbest bleep I've ever seen.
NBA 2K does this and it's pretty dumb. But at least, for example, Giannis could actually play PG.
But in baseball? Totally absurd. You're pissing off the die hards and good luck if SDS thinks this will bring in more casuals. It won't.
-
Buxton at SP? I mean….put him at an infield position and just call it a bad idea and we will all eventually get over it. But starting pitcher? Wtf
-
We still haven’t seen the cornerstone captains, ranked, event or BR rewards… what the heck are they doing?

SAD 2.1 only had 4 cards as well.

And if those are the program cards, then the pack better include...
-- probably not till next week, but I'm putting in the demand now. -

@Dolenz_PSN I could have worded that better. I deserve a little criticism for that comment. However, aside from that ignorant comment, point stands. This is a baseball Sim. It's a little hard to take SDS seriously releasing a TA like this, in pennant race time. It does make me wonder whose calling the shots on content. However, yes, that comment was uncalled for. I own it and apologize for it.

For me there are a few takes on this:
- I do not like goofy stuff … I wanna play Mariano Rivera in the late innings … where he belongs. BUT …
- I like when they spice it up and there couldn’t be a better way than doing this with 95s at the beginning of S3. That is because there will be better cards very quickly and you won’t see those kind of stuff very soon
- They have not enough legends (which is bad to begin with) so bringing in e.g. the third Nolan would be more 23. Since 23 was the lowpoint for me, I like this …
- Guys, embrace new ideas … We will not have new legends this time around (there is hope for 25)

I have absolutely zero problems with 4 Nolan Ryans. And there 100% SHOULD be 4 Ryans.
But those 4 Ryans should be for the 4 teams he pitched for.I cannot stand the argument that players should only have 1-2 cards per year, I think that is absurd. But those cards should have variety. Different teams, different focus (like a Ryan 'Young arm' card for the mets, a no hitter card for the Rangers, etc)
And I strongly disagree that this is the right time for it
Its September, this is the best part of the year: pennant races, awards races, etc. So much history in baseball, even recently, to pick from
And no, these wont be replaced quickly. TA round 2 is 6 weeks away and programs are 2-4 cards per now. And topps now will be lower rated for the first few weeksThis would have actually fit reasonably well at the start of season 2 during a slow time in the year, not season 3 in the playoff race time.

Untill they have 97s, 98s, and 99s that are OOP cards. Then what?

Or... do the OOP in January/February. I could have gotten behind that idea.

Hank Aaron (99), Craig Biggio (99), Dansby Swanson (97), Jake Diekman (95) in the XP path.

Wait. These are the "big" Season 3 cards? Another L.
Three righties I can't hit with (except maybe Dansby) and a fairly useful reliever.
I'm not even whelmed.

and it looks like the event will also be about OOP

I bet you can't wait for your 99 Stan Musial relief pitcher as a collection reward.
