Season two ends with wimper

Wake up this morning to a quiet house. Guess I’ll get some game time in before College Football starts. Finish the last Season Awards program. Get three choice packs. Pick season 8,9,10 packs. Get the 99 card from each one! Yes! Go to list them on auction house….uh, they are non-sellable. I go from 100k possible stubs to 15.
Ok. Let’s take my 99 God squad and start the Shark map. Head right to Pittsburgh. My 5th starter is action figure 99 rated Maddox. Their 5th starter? Who knows. Some 60- something lefty. On Veteran.
Bottom of the 2nd, they smack Maddux and 99 Clase around like it’s BP! My 99 rated God Squad has two hits!
Yeah, I’m done for the day. Not a fun morning at all.

Sounds like you need some pitching practice against the CPU. I played through the new conquest yesterday, all on veteran and outscored the CPU 41-2 and those two runs were on pitches I executed poorly, were hung, and were hit for HRs
For me it is
Down and on the inside corner (Sinker or slider)
Down and on the outside corner (Sinker or Slider)
Fastball up on the inside corner. If that doesn't get them then I simply keep moving the ball around and mixing up my pitches.

I play against cpu on legend here's my practice before I play:
I hit every single pitch on the corner with perfects on every single pitch in my mix before I move to the next exercise. Batting, i treat similarly.
Feel great. Can handle CPU and I know my timings.
Go to ranked.
Opponent has 6 HoF card and all on P5s, literally the best card in every slot, again all P4+. They don't swing at [censored] even if they are dotted on the zone the ump gives me a ball. Every single batter they put to the plate smacks a homer or a triple.
I play at the lowest rank you can in this game. And these guys are common.No. Playing CPU doesn't help you no matter how good you are.

Sometimes the CPU just feels like scoring multiple runs, but its rare. I do intentionally walk Trout and Elly often because for some reason those two hit bombs with consistency (when you use pulse you will leave pitches over the plate randomly and those two take advantage).
As a timing user offense can be fluky too on All Star, sometimes the CPU doesnt throw many pitches in timing's sweet spots and you whiff on some good timings. I had a game vs the tigers where they actually no hit me for 6 innings and I lost, then the rematch I put up 11.

Did I ever suggest anywhere in that post that playing the CPU improves your online play? He stated that he was playing Conquest against Pittsburgh. There are definite things you can do to improve strike outs or weak contact against the CPU that won't work on real players. I gave him my way of going about it. Some people do it the reverse as I do, high inside fastballs followed by a slider down and away.
Since I don't play online (I think I have 2 or 3 games online this year) I would not presume to give pointers to people who play that mode more than I do.

@Dolenz_PSN , thanks for the tips. Like you, I don’t play online at all. So, was stunned when 2 99 pitchers became batting practice to a Live Series Pirates team on Veteran. It was Conquest, so we know the sliders lean a bit towards the CPU.
As for that Adept guy and the Tyler-whoa dude, both are on ignore. Makes this forum a whole lot more fun to read.

Could be worse. You could pull Trout ... from a No-Sell Vault pack after you locked him 2 weeks ago.

MLB 12 was the last game that the CPU was scaled correctly in my opinion
