So there are cheaters after all

Great. I can't wait for all the posts accusing people of cheating every time some [censored] gets their [censored] kicked by someone better

I get where you're coming from...I really do because it does become a crutch/excuse for bad players. That being said, cheating in online games is A LOT more rampant than anyone wants to admit.

I completely understand this as well. I don't blame many of my losses on cheating. I will say however, it's absolutely insane to play games at 500 rank and you dot pitch after pitch and if they land in the strike zone painted they get absolutely decimated. Or they are painted on the zone line and the batter doesn't swing and it's called ball each time makes you really question why someone so [censored] good is in 500 rating against you every other game.
If we suck so back why aren't we playing other players who suck that bad too in the "I suck at this game" sub 500 rating? There is ZERO clear answer and SDS has their head in the sand to it. They don't have an anti cheat or the very least don't tell their playerbase about their anti cheat.
With the amount of times people come here to voice frustration about the gameplay and the glaring cheating issue that's being exposed its very hard to not be sympathetic to the players dealing with this. I've never had this issue in any other game so I can't simply take these easy BS answers we get and just be satisfied with them. I may not be good at video games but dammit I'm old enough and have sank enough time into them to tell you I am very much so experienced with them. This is NOT normal.

Is it crazy to assume so far it looks like its just xbox and pc capable. And rn just shutting off cross play as a p5 user will help.
Still 🤯

In a world... full of cheaters... One gamer decides to fight back ....( deep movie trailer voice)

Don’t think that it’s just for “Xbox” either … ps5 has these cheaters aswell

This device can be used on all kinds of games. I don't get acting like this is an SDS specific problem that they alone need to resolve. I think it is a bigger issue in the Call of Duty community.
Saying junk like this makes us say and believe you're just a paid user, bot, or plain ol simp because make it sound like you didn't even watch the video, do any research into other games, and are putting the onus back on players rather than the game devs WHO MADE THE FRICKIN GAME! It IS SDSs problem and you can't gaslight the community into thinking it's not.
Think what you will of me but when I do a little digging I find 190 profiles on the Cronus website. Now there are multiple profiles for some games so lets say there are 100 different games.
Are the devs of each of those 100 games supposed to figure out how to combat this? Or, as I suggested, is it better for Microsoft to figure out how to disable the device for the console once and solve the issue for all 100 games? Sony apparently did at one point.
The device has profiles for Madden, Call Of Duty, Diablo 4, Forza Horzion, Mortal Kombat. These are major games from Major Dev teams and they have not figured it out so why do we expect more from SDS?
The other question I have. If the PC is analyzing things and spoofing the controller input then how does SDS detect this? I watched Trodee's video and I saw the first batter of the video pop out. I saw another swing and miss. I saw inconsistent timing on pitching. I saw Juan Soto swing late and get "jammed". If everything was perfect/perfect 100% of the time then yes it could be identified but that does not seem to be the case.

At one point Sony blocked them
https://www.theverge.com/2024/1/24/24049658/playstation-5-update-cronus-zen-blocked-cheats
Now, that is not to say that Cronus has not circumvented that in the interim but for a while at least it was not a PlayStation issue.
-
@Dolenz_PSN Cronus literally has a discord with thousands of people on there no need for the website ….
-
@Dolenz_PSN at one point sony blocked “Cronus” & from what i am seeing this looks like a “Titan 2” script which is something totally different

They might use Cronus but as far as I know the pc auto hitting and pitching is on Xbox

What kind of loser goes through all that trouble to cheat in a video game who cares?

Well for one the 10-0 rewards are pretty tough to do no matter what people say here. I can absolutely see someone doing it at least once just to get the undefeated records for rewards. That's not a defense by any means it's just an apt reason for cheating.

If the software runs on PC and spoofs controller inputs then I am not sure how devs reliably detect it in game. I think it is up to the console maker itself to disallow it since it is used across many different games. Sony itself, issued a patch 7 months ago that disabled the ability to use it, although it is possible Cronus has found a way around that.
While I don't deny that it is being used, In the end I still don't believe that it is as common in MLB The Show as some want to believe.
Agree, I don’t think it’s as common as it is in other games like COD or NBA2K but it will definetely spread fast.

I bet to differ. I completely agree with the prevalence of hacking in other games. I played The Division. But a big difference here is the lack of acknowledgement or system openly in place.
If there wasn't .600+ batting average on 145-0 records in one season this would probably be less sketchy.
I think if I could put a number on it though 1 out of every 7 games (trying to be generous to avoid over estimates) is a cheat of some form or fashion be it the recently exposed Xbox PC method or something else.
I don't play NBA but I've played CoD and other shooters. First of all, we can't even compare frequency of hackers not being banned or moderated simply because they aren't even in the same league of quantity of the playerbase. Secondly, these other games install background applications running alongside the game to avoid hacking and scope out then quickly respond to the successful ones. They advertise the anti-cheat software they use and usually are not shy about it. The first thing you see at the loading screen in most cases. -
If someone has to do this, you’ve already won

Listen guys, stubs are on sale. Do what SDS wants and spend $50. You may even get the elusive purple diamond.

@AdeptOfMemory_PSN if there is any user on this forum who is the complete opposite of what you have described, it’s Dolenz.

What advantage is this giving here? A red strike zone if it's a strike? I noticed a couple of lines that appeared on the side, but didn't indicate where the pitch was going.
-
I don’t get what’s going on. I’m old asf. Could someone explain it to me?
